Yeah, damn. Turnstile’s new EP is so good. Dig the short film too. Love their whole demeanor and vibe. They’re getting some awesome shoutouts.

 

They’re very Refused-ish, judging from that clip. I’m into it.

 

They do a great job paying homage to the 80’s/90’s hardcore scene while throwing in new/modern twists. It’s super refreshing.

There’s definitely Refused in there, but I also sense Rage Against The Machine with some of the vocals. The vocal filter effects remind me a lot of 311 too, which is funny because Nick Hexum has mentioned Turnstile is his favorite band and recently posted a photo with the band haha.

 

I’ve never listened to them until their newer stuff has come out, but am I wrong in saying I feel like it gives me beastie boys vibes too?

 

I recently watched a video about the band and one of the band members had a Beastie Boys poster hanging up in their place.

 

Saw them when they opened for New Found Glory once.

 

My mum discovered she had cancer at the start of our U.K. lockdown last March. Having seen her go through it (largely from a distance sadly due to the lockdown) really brought home just how awful and debilitating cancer is, having never seen it first hand before.

Seeing all of Marks posts about this make me incredibly sad, yet at the same time I’m so happy he isn’t going through this alone and has super supportive friends and family, and a huge supportive fanbase who are wishing him well.

My mum couldn’t even get a hug from her children for a while, and I’m just glad Mark has all of these people to help the loneliness of cancer feel a little less isolating.

 

Sending well wishes to your mom. Hope she’s doing okay!

I have a very personal hatred for leukaemia.

Not sure what Mark has. Leukaemia is more common in young children though and any form for cancer in the marrow/blood is such a tough numbers thing

 

Ah, I feel you. We actually lost my sister to leukemia when she was four. My oldest sister was her bone marrow donor and it didn’t work. Also have a close family friend who had it when we were teenagers and beat it. It fucking sucks.

 

Looks maybe like lymphoma? Jesus I’m more stressed about this than I thought I’d be.

 

Cancer cuts down way too many people way too early. It’s especially rough seeing kids go through stuff. It’s not fair. I have so much respect for Mark opening up about this and I hope the best for anyone dealing with cancer and their families and friends. I know Mark means a lot to us as fans of his, but he means way to more to his his family and those loved ones in his life.
