    Or they just outgrew Tom?

I think everyone is just tired of Tom right now especially since the 2nd break up but if we could somehow get Tom circa 1999 to 2003 back in the band you'd pass on it?

Of course anyone would want peak Tom back. But that's impossible. He'll never get back to that level of songwriting. Or get good Tom voice back.

Tom's AVA tropes and that dumb waver in his voice make it hard for me to imagine legitimately liking any more music he puts out. I can enjoy about 3 songs on Dream Walker. Nothing since has gotten more than two listens from me

I disagree about Tom's songwriting.......I bet if he brought "Overload" to Blink it would've became a great, Untitled era type song.

If "not, now" was any indication to where there sound was heading for the album after self titled count me in!

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Not Now was recorded during the Untitled album sessions and was released at the same time in 2003 on the UK version.

But I do agree with you that I would have liked more music similar to that song!

When Your Heart Stops Beating was really good though. I've never cared for AVA, but +44 were solid!

I think Tom will play a song/show etc. with the band if they ever get inducted into the HOF.

I do not ever see Mark and Travis recording music for blink with Tom. It's just way too awkward.

In all reality, i just want Matt to do what Matt can do and bring that to blink...rather than trying the "back to the roots never growing up" shit.

I agree getting peak Tom back is impossible. It's nice to dream though. And honestly I don't care about how he sounds, I can take his 'new' voice if it meant us getting better songs from him.

Also I think those who want Tom back are not really focusing and remembering how the majority of 2009-2013 really was.

I mean, 2009-Neighborhoods release was peek douche Tom. The Love shirt. The belligerence. The "does Tom care or just doing it for money?" rhetoric. Yuck.

The really only high point for blink's return were the self-titled shows. I bought in an got invested he actually was into it. Then a few months later Tom. Is. Out.

His departure is a summary of his presence in the band. He can get you hyped and buy in, but will disappoint you out of nowhere and go away. I don't need that. I'd rather him continue to do his "new announcement in a few weeks and big things still coming for 4 years until he announces a new overpriced t-shirt or pencil sharpener" on his own time. Not on blink's time.

If there were odds available, I'd be willing to put money on Blink doing another record with Skiba, then taking a couple of years before reuniting with Tom to do another album and a bunch of reunion shows.

Not that I want that to happen in the slightest, but I think that's where we're at.

I truly believe that at times he really wanted to be in the band, especially during the 10 year Untitled tour and the few months between when they were recording DED and the release. I just think Tom is just an erratic individual with bad ADD and has commitment and ego/control problems that make him impossible to work with or to count on.

I seriously don't understand how people can see them recording together again. Tom flat out put blink down for using a producer. He didn't even bother to listen to final mixes on Neighborhoods. Mark and Tom could not be less on the same page. Travis seems way too nice but I fully believe Mark is all out of chances for Tom.

  18. I'm still at a loss for why people would think a future album and tour with Tom would happen. I can't think of a single indication that would make me believe that

Him not listening to the final mixes of Neighborhoods (an album he leads in songs and influence) still pisses me off.

Well usually people would respond with "money" but Mark and Travis are making money touring and recording with Skiba and Tom is presumably sitting at home and collecting money from Mark and Travis being active with the band, so it's a win/win for everyone at that aspect.

But besides all of that, Tom has repeatedly said he hates touring and hasn't even played a single show with AVA since what 2010 or 2011. And the three of them couldn't get into the studio alone together for more than what a week or 2 at a time. Everyone admitted that the way they recorded Neighborhoods was a disaster and wouldn't want to go that route again. I could go on and on at the reasons why it won't happen.

The only time I truly think they would all come together and play again would be if they ever got inducted into the HOF. I just think there's way too much bad blood and baggage, Tom has just burned them too many times for them to ever trust him again.

I don't think Tom will ever be in another blink album but they absolutely will play a show together in the next 10 years

Do you guys really think they'll make R&R HOF? I'm legit asking lol

Green Day isn't surprising but I feel like Blink doesn't get nearly the respect from critics that GD does

I'm probably the last person to ask because I'm biased and I have no clue what the qualifications are to get in but I would have to think they have enough album sales (if that's a requirement), were one of the biggest bands in the world at their peak and they were extremely influential to their genre to get in, maybe not first ballot. What I think hurts them is possibly their longevity, their first run was approximately 12 years (1993 to 2005) and their second run they have been going for 8 years (2009 to now), and like you said the critics haven't always/probably don't take them seriously. Maybe if their next album is as big as California was it might push them over that edge?

I'd actually like to know what others with more knowledge of the subject think.
