I think there's a better chance he finds aliens first.

But yes it would be great if we could get the 1997-2003 Tom back.

  6. This conversation creeps up every month or so, eh?

I sincerely believe Tom will NEVER BE BACK. Not for a show, not for an album, not for anything.

Seems like every 2 weeks to me.

But yeah I just don't see Tom ever coming back either. He just doesn't want to tour anymore while Mark and Travis do and it's clear music isn't his passion anymore either. Plus it's clear he burnt his bridges with Mark and Travis way too many times and how could either of them trust he will change. He'll just continue to sit at home doing whatever he does and collect those blink royalty checks each month.

I don't get why people would a) want Tom back, and b) think he could just come back to the band with open arms. Do people really think Mark and Travis have absolutely no say in the matter, and they'll just blindly make music with someone who is clearly an asshole? Doesn't make sense.

  10. Right; it's less about Tom's desire to rejoin the band (I'm not confident either way how he feels) but what would shock me is Mark and Travis just being like, "sure, we'll kick Matt out so Tom can come back. That won't be awkward at all."

fwiw i don't think he would come back, i was just saying I want him to, but obviously committed to the band. i would assume everyone who was a fan of the band in their heyday would agree with that

I don't want him back ever, under any circumstances.

why not, if i may ask? (FYI I love Skiba and am happy he stepped in except for the whole fucking up alk3 thing now)

I don't think Tom has anything to offer writing wise and is awful live. Hard pass on anything from him. I respect his earlier work, but he has changed and I want nothing to do with him.

yeah I agree with all of this. it was your "under any circumstances" comment that made me question why you wouldn't want him if he put the effort in to become a good musician/songwriter again. my comment way above was a pipe dream that wasn't meant to be taken so seriously, but yeah of course i don't want him back in his present state either

I think him becoming good again is not possible.

I disagree. After a few years, the appeal of Blink coming to town to play the same set will die down, especially without one of the iconic vocalists. Can you see Blink headlining another major European Festival any time soon, for example? I personally can't. Give it a few years and put a bit of money on the table, and 9 times out of 10 Mark and Travis agree.

I may be coming across a bit harsh, which I don't mean to. Basically at the end of the day, everyone has bills to pay, and there'll be a lot of money on offer for everyone. Fair play to them if so.

2004 Tom was abducted by aliens and replaced with an Alien in a Tom suit trying to learn our Human ways
