Two best songs on California, imo.

 

I got a bass guitar a couple weeks ago and I just taught myself the opening to "Cynical" and the opening riff to "Man Overboard."

Sober is a top 3 Skiba era song for me easily.

 

Sober is probably my least favourite on California. The song essentially boiling down to "Na na na na na na na na na na na na" does nothing for me.

 

Well this new MGK song is kicking my ass today. I love it haha. I get some +44 vibes in it, especially with that beat and that little guitar solo!

 

I still screw up the intro to Carousel on my bass and I really do feel like Mark each time I do it, haha.

 

Sober is one of my least favorite songs by them. It's kind of boring...like Down.

 

Funny enough, I love both of those songs, opinions are weird.

 

I can't believe that there are so many people that actually like sober LOL I'm a big big fan of California, but Sober is probaly my least favorite song haha

San Diego and Cynical are certainly my favorites from the OG version

 

that being said, one of my favorite things about blink is that they have SO MANY good songs that everyone has a very different preference

 

Had to check this out, I’m like “MGK the rapper, +44 vibes?” And you weren’t kidding. Kind of a +44 / Sekrets mashup with the morbid song title - even some Blink vibes too “In my yead” “Na an na nas”

 

Sober is one of my least favorites from California but i still think it absolutely should have been a single, probably one of the best, less "filler-y" usage of na na's on the record

I do enjoy Sober although it’s not my favorite on the record. I do believe it would’ve had amazing traction on radio stations as a crossover hit. They could’ve pushed it and labeled it with the fact that it was “Co-written with Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy!”

I also think Darkside should’ve been the lead single from NINE.

 

The MGK song reminds me/makes me think that this song is what blink hoped would be on neighborhoods. Idk why but I get strong AVA/Tom vibes especially when the synths come in, and then Travis just kills it especially in the chorus with that hi-hat and you can just tell it’s Travis. Then I could hear Mark singing all the low MGK harmonies.

 

Carousel was the first song I learned on bass. 16 year old me was proud

 

As long as tom doesn't talk blink I love everything he does.

 

Holy shit The Mark Tom and Travis Show is on streaming services!!!!!! Fuck ya

 

I feel like that happened a while ago, no?

 

Another July 2020 blink show gets cut.

 

hopefully i can get a ticket to the rescheduled date. this show had a great lineup.

 

I’ve accepted that the Euro tour will be 2022 now at this rate, unless they do it early 2021.

 

Maybe not until 2023 depending on when they decide to record their next album.

 

Just in time for the 20 year Untitled anniversary...
