  1. FUUUUCK this record is going to be harder. We'll see if it ends up being harder than TOYPAJ was for me

    A New Hope
    - One of the early favorites from blink for me. There was a girl in my high school that I was in love with and she loved Star Wars. She was my Leia.

Apple Shampoo - Jesus Christ, man. This record is gonna be brutal. Both of these songs are some of Mark's best in terms of story telling and getting the right lyrics for the right tone. I went with Apple Shampoo because Tom's guitar work in the verses is rad but fucking hell I hate sending Waggy down like this. Fuck man :((((((((

Emo - This was also tough. "She's better off sleeping on the floor" got it over the hump for me.

Pathetic - This was tough but Pathetic is such a great opener and the back and forth vocals is at its all time best here. "This is where I belong!"

(Zulu) - I remember how stoked I was to hear this 7" when I was a kid (1999/2000-ish) and this song made the EP for me. Love the bass chords in the bridge.

It's mid tier for me. Used to be higher, and sometimes I love it like I used to. But I would definitely rank Untitled, TOYPAJ, and Enema over it.

In fact lately I listen to California/CaiDx more than it:speakno:

Ha, I just don't listen to anything pre-Enema at all. If I'm listening to Blink, it's something between Enema and California (and that doesn't include the deluxe version).

Hey, opinions and taste we all have it.

If there's one thing this ranking game has shown for me it's that you can clearly see that while sure some have majority someone always views each song/album differently and no album/song is 'the best' factually

I just view Dude Ranch as the epitome of blink. It feels like the last truly genuine record they made. I hate using that word, but there are plenty of interviews where the dudes talk about purposely making "radio" songs post Dude Ranch, and that kinda rubs me the wrong way. I think it has their best lyrics, I think both vocalists are at the top of their game and I think the times that they go back and forth with each other, like Pathetic, are the highlights of the band's entire career.

Dude Ranch is hit or miss. Some good stuff, some pretty skippable stuff too. Production is not that great, but it works for the style of music.

See I view Dude Ranch as more as the starting point to the awesomeness that is this band. Like a launch pad.

I mean, define "launchpad". Is it where they put out some their first truly great songs? Then, I agree. If it means the entire album is great, I would disagree.

dude ranch is my second favorite after untitled.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

    Currently:

    Voyeur-11
    A New Hope-18

    Waggy-7
    Apple Shampoo-22

    Enthused-15
    Emo-14

    Josie-11
    Pathetic-18

    Zulu-10
    Wrecked Him-10

Man Voyeur is taking that last minute run to catch up it's jumped in the last few hours. And pathetic has taken a nice lead.

Am I seriously going to have to do a tie breaker on the WCTCUranus songs?!

Untitled is relatively unarguable in terms of their "peak" as songwriters and certainly stands up as the next best record, I just consider it a pretty huge outlier compared to the rest of their albums. I think the Dude Ranch era songs capture what I like most about blink. And, again, I don't think that they've come close to touching the lyrical content of this record

I'll still ride for the first two as well. Carousel, M+Ms and Peggy Sue remain some of my favorite blink songs

Toast & Bananas, Does My Breath Smell, Romeo & Rebecca, Strings, and Sometimes are as good as most pop punk gets, even if they don't reach blink's highest highs. Cacophony is a cool break from the mostly breakneck pace of the album. Cheshire is really strong.

Aside from Voyeur being the Revenge of the Nerds of songs, Dude Ranch is nearly perfect.

I love Dude Ranch but don't think any of the Tom only songs outside of Untitled and Enthused hold up. This is probably Mark's best songwriting though. All of his songs except ANH are great.

Isn't Pathetic the first time we had a Mark and Tom back and forth song? I don't remember any from Buddha or CC.

Enthused is great, Untitled is great. Boring/Degenerate are the weakest on the album but I still enjoy them

  21. Boring used to be my favorite on the record. That opening riff is so fucking rad.
