I listened to BIOMY the most when it came out, but I still haven’t gotten burned out by it. It puts me in a good mood still lol. I burned myself out over Happy Days and GD. I’d say i started to burn myself with Darkside when the music video dropped.

I didn’t listen to I Really Wish I Hated You a lot, but that’s another single I keep going back to the most next to BIOMY

Yeah I wish I liked the front half anywhere near as much as the back

I like it front to back but the album is strongest from Black Rain through Remember

Can we debate whether it's the strongest back half in their discography?

I won't even bother mentioning Buddha or Cheshire Cat. California was filled with filler, ditto for Neighborhoods along with some just bad songs in general. TOYPAJ has a strong back half but is dragged down by GMOGR and Shut Up. Dude Ranch is pretty strong too but again dragged down with Degenerate and while I enjoy it for what it is I don't consider A New Hope 'good'. Enema is pretty good but Party Song drags it down. Untitled has a strong back half as well. With NINE, I don't really care much for Ransom and I'm really indifferent to IRWIHY.

same, still love BIOMY, i think i'll just always love well-done, good vibes blink songs. i can already tell IRWIHY is going into Down territory where i'll happily listen to it when going through the album front to back, but never in the mood to pick it out and listen to it by itself.

Listened to the whole thing about 5 times, but I’ve been starving myself of this album until my vinyl finally comes in tomorrow.

The more I listen to Out Of My Head the more it reminds me of The Starting Line. Could be the bass line and chorus. Kinda reminds me of something off Direction.

  9. YES! Perfect comparison! It's also going to be one that they play live forever and we are all going to complain that they need to switch it out with something awesome that they refuse to play like "No Heart To Speak Of" haha.

So the article on blink in Upset magazine is pretty interesting regarding Matt and Travis’ thoughts on Tom. In a nutshell Matt think Tom will be back while Travis doesn’t think it will happen.

I wonder why Matt thinks that. Are there screen shots?

Funny, I thought Travis and Tom were pretty buddy-buddy, but I guess that lends all the more credibility to his take.

Travis said they talk time to time but wouldn’t want Tom back unless all 3 of them had the same musical visions/goals or it wouldn’t work.

Ya, I’d have the same thought process as Matt if i were in his shoes. Which is why I’d totally be soaking it all in like he has been. Lucky dude.

I also get where Travis is coming from regarding music direction and goals etc. that part really makes me think Tom won’t be back.

In that article they say their manager said they should write some happy songs since the album was 90% dark and that’s where Happy Days and BIOMY came from. I wish that coversation didn’t happen haha

  20. Tom would hate being on the track Blink is on right now. Co-writers, producers, writing songs specifically for radio, constant touring, etc. Tom would be pretty miserable, I think.

  21. Sounds like it was just like the "First Date"/"The Rock Show" conversation. Except they wrote 2 songs that are nowhere as good as those TOYPAJ songs.

    Better than you, sorry

If blink is a company and all 3 own it then I don't mind if tom doesn't return as long as he's getting some of the profits. He helped make it what it is, he should forever deserve a cut.

With that said, damn, it's awful that he's going through a divorce right now. Whenever he talks during an AVA show there's so much heart and emotion. I feel like whenever Mark or Matt talk at a show it's shallow. Long Live Tom Delonge!

Pretty sure AVA has been using a producer for their new album, right? I think he's been changing his tune just a little bit on these sorts of things. He even said in a recent interview (I'll find the Youtube clip after work) that the last few weeks of this tour has made him realize how much he missed it and how he's never leaving again. Said something to the effect that we can expect him to never take a break from music ever again. He definitely wouldn't be up for the co writers, even though Ilan pretty much took the wheel on their last album lol

Ilan’s brother helps with the production. I think change in sound was influenced by Ilan too.

I'll have to do some digging but I'm pretty sure back in like March a famous producer posted a pic on instagram with Tom and Ilan with a caption insinuating that he was producing some of their new tracks. It wasn't Ilan's brother either I'm blanking on the name.
