There is one random sound in the very end of Hungover you that reminds me of a song from a "canceled" artist and it weirds me out every time. Like, it always stands out.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I kind of feel that way about all 5 songs they released before the album dropped. Putting songs like Pin the Grenade and No Heart to Speak Of out would have immediately clicked with the fan base.

I wonder if they released it because it was one of the already finished songs and they knew it was definitely going to be on the album and wanted to release it to hype up the tour some more. Otherwise yes I agree. Will be interesting to hear how the writing process was this time around and when everything was decided on and finalized. I feel like they were really working on this thing up until the last minute, ala the Untitled album.

Not sure if this album is for me. Pin The Grenade was really fucking good though.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

Read that earlier, and I think he’s saying that while the lyrics and sound is a bit outdated and contrived, it doesn’t matter when it’s around music this catchy.

review: on 'Nine,' blink-182 swore they'd be better than the last time

^ This review is probably the most balanced I have seen. It doesn't unnecessarily shit on the band or the record, but it isn't reverent to Blink either. ( Aside from wanting to know what it would be like with Tom on this batch of songs. This album would have never happened with him in the band)

I agree completely that the glossy radio-friendly production takes away from all of the strengths of each member. This album proves they can do it and be successful. It is a great bridge between safe sing-along songs on California and some truly fearless choices that show each member bringing the best of themselves to the table. I would love the next one to go even farther and have less outside influence and cooks in the kitchen. Let's hear what Mark, Matt, and Travis can do locked in a studio getting very weird. I'd settle for a members of Blink only EP.

No Heart to Speak Of is the early standout for me.

Loving this. Heaven, Run Away and Black Rain are some early favorites. This is the most i’ve enjoyed blink in quite some time.

Not huge on Happy Days but this line is great:

'Walls of isolation inside of my pain
And I don't know if I'm ready to change"

Travis's contributions in the little textures throughout the album are amazing. All of the songs I don't love on this album (Happy Days, Hungover You, Remember to Forget Me) I find myself thinking "Damn Travis killed this track." The little textures he sprinkled throughout are so good. The No Heart To Speak Of outro is so good. Every Hip Hop influenced drum part adds texture and doesn't feel out of place at all. It was missing on California and it is one of my favorite parts of this record.

I don’t even understand how someone couldn’t love the closer. That song is damn near perfect.

Low 60’s and sunny in San Diego right now. Perfect weather for the new album.

First listen the record isn't clicking for me as much as it is for a lot of people in here. I think I'm just not a huge Matt fan in general (not to say I'm a "Get Tom back" guy, far from it. I'm just not a big fan of his voice, as basic as that sounds).

That said, early favourites are for sure Happy Days and Hungover You. I would love to hear Hungover You live, it's such a shame that the band has such a large catalogue and there's pretty much no chance it happens.

Very happy everyone else seems to be loving it though. It's nice to have the band back on form. Patiently waiting for some UK dates to be announced too.

The textures and intricate productions elements were exactly what I wanted in this “sounds like Untitled” emulation.

This sounds how Blink should sound in 2019.

I was planning on doing a big write-up with my take on the album, but to sum it up, I love it. They did it. I'm very impressed with this album. It's not what I expected, and that's part of why I love it. Blink stepped it up in a big way on all cylinders, and I'm amazed by the results. I straight up got chills by the time I got to Heaven. You can tell that this is a band who's been writing a TON of songs together since California, and it shows. Matt was really able to break out and shine on this record, and I definitely felt some Crimson-era vibes from him on this release. With that said, I do hope to hear some Matt solo singing in future releases. This does feel like a spiritual successor to Untitled, and what Blink should sound like in 2019. Nine slays. Great job fellas!:rock:

    Favorites at the moment:
    The First Time
    Heaven
    No Heart to Speak Of
    Pin The Grenade
    Remember to Forget Me

Will probably post random thoughts about individual songs later. Otherwise, Happy Blink-182 NINE release day everyone! :musical::cheers:B-)
