Excited to put this album the test on my run today. I see it being a nice running album.

 

Great to see that almost every song on the album has been mentioned as someones "favorite" in this forum.

 

It always will bum me out that Blinkaline Trio Didn't catch on but Alkaline 182 did.

 

I work at an office with a 21-year-old who thought Green Day was a British band. I think the American Idiot aesthetic (probably her earliest memory of the band) might have had to do with it? IDK. Weird stuff.

 

Heaven, No Heart to Speak of, and On Some Emo Shit are exactly what i wanted out of this lineup. i. love. it.

 

Oh fuck this is so much better than I was expecting. Other than Darkside I did not like any of the singles.

Turns out every other track on here makes up for those ones.

 

I wonder what their setlist is gonna look like on the next tour

 

California tour with the everything other than Cynical and BTD swapped out with the singles from this

 

They should play Nine in full at least on some pre-listening concerts. It would be cool.

 

i was just thinking Black Rain is sick but there's NO chance Mark can pull off those verses live haha. but then again they tuned Darkside down so anythings possible now

 

See, this is why it sucks that singles have to be "poppy" following similar poppy songs to do well.. The "filler" tracks on this record I would kill to hear on actual radio, any day.

 

If they don't play "No Heart To Speak Of" and "Pin The Grenade" live, I will riot.

 

No heart to speak of is absolutely fantastic, the drums at the end have my jaw on the freaking floor.

 

My goodness Skiba absolutely kills No Heart. So much fuckin passion in his voice.

 

this can't be a record where they only play the singles.. the other tracks are just too darn good.

 

surely fans will be tweeting the band like crazy telling them how good specific songs are and they'll take that into consideration when making a setlist.

 

I get it if people didn’t like the singles but it seems silly to act like they were picked poorly? Removing my bias that BIOMY, Happy Days, and Darkside are three of the best cuts here, the five in total do a great job of touching on all of the sounds on the record.

Outside of those three, the only other songs that really caught my ear were Heaven and No Heart, which imo is tied with BIOMY for best on the album

 

they do that like 3rd wave emo sound really well on this record. A lot of those killer half time choruses in minor keys.

 

Completely agree. Matt kills it on this entire album. Much more so than on California.

 

It would be so much easier to say if they just extended it to 2 hours.

 

Found a Run Away vid on Reddit, damn cool song and doesn't even seem to be near the top of people's favorites. So so so excited to hear the rest.

 

You know, I gotta hand it to Mark, I thought he was toast in terms of making quality music again.

 

Another song that Skiba takes to the next level.

it's pretty amazing that "darkside" isn't even in my top 5 favorite songs right now on this thing. i fucking love that song, haha.
