That's generally how I feel too. Musically, it's actually not too far off from something that could have fit on Untitled, but yeah, the lyrics/vocals take it down a bit for me. It actually sounds like it had a fair bit of collaboration unlike most of the record.

I hardly go back to it now, but I do have fond memories of that album cycle. I had to take a painting class in college for my degree around the time the album leaked, so I had a handful of nights where I had to go to the art studio to finish something up and just played that album on loop.

I’m not really sure why they would do anything of significance for the anniversary of a record that 2/3 of the band largely pretend doesn’t exist, and was their least successful record to date.

    Things have changed.

    Seemed like sarcasm to me

not crazy about Love is Dangerous but the bridge is very pleasant, simple, quintessential blink

Hot take: You're not a real fan if you don't appreciate Tom's delivery on that song.

Everything this band has done since the self-titled has been trash

I think Neighborhoods is better than California. It has higher highs while Cali is more consistent, i guess. From what we’ve heard from NINE though chances are high it’ll be my favorite post break-up record.

Can't get behind Love Is Dangerous. That chorus... The rest is cool.

This thread made me listen to a bunch of that album again.

If only they had a damn producer and a normal recording process I'm sure the album would've worked better. The songs also just sound unfinished.

I think California might be more cohesive and less of a "mess" but it's a much less interesting record as well.

Also, Even if She Falls is a bop.

ugh..I do not like Fall Out Boy or Panic At The Disco. I never thought Fall Out Boy took the place of Blink while they were gone.

Anyway...the instagram post Travis posted of I Really Wish I Hated You playing to a True Romance gif only makes me like the song 10x more.

Also, Jimmy Eat World is wonderful.

Album rankings are gonna start again if we keep comparing neighborhoods to other albums

"Pretty ticked off" is probably stronger words than the exchange that actually happened. I would say he's surprised and a little bummed, yes.

I think the Blizzcon clip perfectly shows the dysfunction/lack of communication in the band. Mark sent Tom and Travis the set list via email the night before and Tom didn't even bother reading it.

  16. I'd rather rank every Blink song than listen to the new Green Day/FOB/Weezer singles ever again, haha.

I won't even give those songs the time of day.

You don't like the Weezer song? I thought it was a solid return to form! Reminds me of the White Album.

The FOB song on the other hand....yeesh.

I didn’t like the FOB and Green Day singles at all. But if I knocked them for sounding that way and yet give Blink a pass I’d be kind of a hypocrite. So it’s not for me but good on them

  20. the white album is hardly a return to form since it came out only 3 years ago... and yeah, the Weezer song is the best out of the 3, for sure, but it's still not my cup-o-tea. but i haven't liked a new weezer album in over a million years, although each album has a couple songs i like.

I actually like all those songs tbh

That Green Day song actually proved to me that the main reason I don't like them is Billie's voice, haha.

Fall Out Boy is doing weird pop rock as well as ever. Kinda gives me Carpal Tunnel vibes in the pure insanity of its style.

Weezer song is fine, they're a hard band to dislike though. Island In The Sun was the first pop song I ever heard as a kid though, so I have a soft spit for them there.

I dig all three way more than I thought I would. Interesting the Weezer song was co-written by Tim Pagnotta
