Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Warning: I won’t be very kind on this one.

Tom DeLonge- To The Stars....Demos, Odds and Ends

    New World:
This is the only song on this EP I remember liking somewhat. I like the guitar to it, and the bass line /guitar riff trade off parts are pretty cool. The chorus isn’t bad also. This could have been a cool song if it was developed. (Don’t get used to this positivity)

    An Endless Summer:
This is a definite AvA bside. You can tell from the intro. The guitar on this one isn’t bad and I like the intro to it, but after that the song kind of slips. Also, plenty of Tom referencing being 16, is this like a meme of his now? And AvA yodeling returns! If I had to rank these it would get second place behind New World. But that’s by default.

    Suburban Kings:
This song is so...soooooo boring. In some ways it has this feeling of Rite Of Spring meeting Surrender from his AvA albums. But both of those songs do what this song attempts better.

    The Invisible Parade:
Acoustic isn’t bad in this song. Besides that though, yikes. I don’t like the lyrics to this one at all. Honestly this song sounds like Tom trying to make a Jack Johnson song, and that isn’t something I ever wanted. Also Ladadadadadadadadadadada. For all the criticisms of Blink and Nananas, Tom has his yodeling and Ladadadas he likes to use.

    Circle-Jerk-Pit:
“Hey guys! I can still make a fast pop punk song! Just watch!” Bleh. I don’t find this song appealing at all. Honestly it kind of makes me think he took My First Punk Song, and tried to make a full song off of it. I felt when this came out that he threw this together to try and “gotcha” people who didn’t think he was working on anything blink.

    Landscapes:
Do we really need an interlude on an EP?! Shit! This sounds like the intro to an AvA song that he decided not to use. Pointless.

    Animals:
I feel like I heard this already. I have no words for this really. It’s just kind of there....and it’s also kind of a snooze fest. Most of these are. Honestly if you have trouble sleeping at night just throw this song on.

Golden Showers In The Golden State:
Yuck. This is the worst song on this album/ep/whatever. I throw this into the same category as CJP, but it’s a lot more gross and just as bad as any blink joke song, if not more so. Its like Tom was challenged to write a joke song like they used to, didn’t want to, but threw one together because that’s what he thinks people want. Literal trash song.

Overall: I said when I first listened to this ep it was terrible and I had no desire to return to it, and my feelings have not changed. This is terrible. Either Tom really wasn’t working on blink songs and just made up some stuff and threw on an EP with some AvA demos just to gotcha blink fans when he left, or I’m kind of glad he didn’t get a chance to put these on the next album. Either way this is one of my least favorite things ever.

Yeah ... it sucks. The first 3 tracks are the "best" but none of them are anything worth ever needing to exist.

For what it's worth why would you review something you dislike so much ? Lol. I mean lyrically it's brutal, but I still go back to it because I like it musically.

I always felt An Endless Summer was meant for Blink. It sounds like a Neighborhoods/Dogs-era Blink song. Also easily my favorite song on TTS.

    New World had potencial.

Invisible Parade it’s a song that I appreciate means a lot to Tom but it’s just bad. The vocal melody just doesn’t work.

A lot of emphasis put on the "Demos, Odds and Ends" part of that EP title haha

It definitely felt that way, especially considering when the articles came out saying he quit, he posted a couple of clips of the songs on Instagram as "proof" he had been working on blink stuff and put a hashtag like #SongsWithoutAHome. Haha. Come on man. Suuuuch a sob story.

I didn't absolutely hate the two releases they had after the reunion, but clearly new blink music wasn't being churned out like it is nowadays without him. I wouldn't have been surprised if anything new never saw the light of day had Matt not stepped in.

I think we would have had one new blink album right now if Tom has stayed. And I would have liked it more. Buuuuut life isn’t fair and I’m happy they’re still making music.

Looking at what he's been doing since Matt joined I have no doubt we'd have zero blink music. He wouldn't have prioritized it over anything

AT MOST, the ONLY thing he'd be doing related to Blink is sporadic shows/touring, and that's because touring/shows=$$$ for Tom and TTS and whatever crackpot businesses and concepts he's thinking up next. Even then, I'm not sure if he would've even bothered with playing shows anymore. He seemed way "over it" when he left the second time. Blink was a cash cow for him post-reunion.

Side note: I'm really curious as to what kind of cut he's taking these days from Blink business. I can only imagine how long it took to hash that situation out with the lawyers involved. :eyeroll:

Also would anyone here be interested in a ticket for the September 18th show possibly ?

Not very long considering they played musink with Matt like a couple months after Tom left. Tom is still making bank off of blink, best of both worlds for him really.

With Tom in Blink we would have zero new music. An EP at best. Dude is "changing the world" and scamming people in the process.

Put it in quotes all you want, and talk all the shit you want. Years from now blink is just going to be a footnote on Delonge's career.
