It looks like they're going to auction another bass on that site from Mark. It's not as cool as the plaid one IMO but it may go for less because it's not as "legendary" as the plaid one.

DUDE RANCH

1. Pathetic - Classic. This is a great opener for this album, and one of the better songs on this album. When I do album runs of this one, I always smile when this song starts. I wish they’d bust this one out live more often.

2. Voyeur - By far my least favorite song on this album, and definitely in my bottom songs of their discography. Tom is super subpar here lyric wise and the lyrics are just kind of gross. I’ll skip this one more often than not.

3. Dammit - It’s dammit, what hasn’t been said about this song? It helped put Blink on the map, and it’s a classic blink song. I know some people wish they’d stop closing with it, but honestly it’s just perfect for a set closer, and it’s one that I’ll always love singing along with. Many memories of me and my friends driving around at 4am with no where to go and singing this song.

4. Boring - just like the title, I find it’s a good description of the song. Not a fan really.

5. Dick Lips - This Song is ok. It’s not fantastic, but it does have a sort of underrated charm to it. The lyrics are kind of meh, but blink isnt really known for their lyrics (moreso back then even). It’s a middle of the road track.

6. Waggy - One Of The top songs on this album. I enjoy this one a lot, and it goes to show like I and a few others on here have said that this is truly a Mark supported album. This song has an excellent bridge, and it’s just a fun time.

7. Enthused - Another good song on the album. I go back to this one quite a bit. I didn’t place it on my top 50 blink songs for some reason and maybe I should fix that one of these days. Sonically it’s different than a lot of the other songs on the album too, making it hold some water compared to the others.

8. Untitled - Not a fan. It’s not necessarily a bad song really, it’s just kind of there. I always considered this one a middle of the road song, and I know some people like this song. Sorry Brad!

9. Apple Shampoo - My favorite song on the album, for sure. This one stands out in its song structure, and Mark sounds amazing on this one. This one won the bracket for Dude Ranch back when I held the bracket games, and I’m glad it did (I did tie break for it though so that probably says something). This is a great song and really shows what Mark was capable of back on this album. A+

10. Emo - Another middle of the road song. I used to like this one a lot more back in the day but I’ve found myself distanced from it in recent years.

11. Josie - Yes! This is a classic and one of the best songs on the album. I love this song, and it was another one of me and my wife’s ‘us’ songs. I still make the joke when she picks up Mexican food for us that it’s just because. Another prime example of Mark holding his own on this album. This is one that the fan base tends to love, and it’s one I think should be a set staple.

12. A New Hope - A goofy song that I like, not much to really say about it. It’s a cool song, one of the higher grade ones on this album.

13. Degenerate - Super forgettable. This is one of those songs I don’t even remember exists until I play this album.

14. Lemmings - This one is good. I used to really not care for it but I find myself warming up to it in recent years. A pretty good song with a nice fire to it.

15. I'm Sorry - Another kind of meh song. Its one of the only album closers by this band that I’m not really a fan of. It’s not terrible, but it’s just not the best this album has to offer.


All in all I love this album, despite some of the more negative things I have to say about it. It ranks probably about 4th for me in their discography but it is a classic, have to give credit where it’s due. It suffers a bit from aging and the guys still finding their footing, but when they shine they shine. And mark carries this album.

 

Maybe you would have if you didn’t buy so many To The Stars stock....
