This is the first time I’ve ever seen the Thing. I kinda feel like it can’t live up to everything I’ve heard about it for so long.

That’s how I felt when I watched it a few years ago. I wasn’t amazed then, but I’m really excited to rewatch it now without any external expectations.

    Great episode.

Surprised to hear David loves the Zombie Halloweens.

Can't wait for The Fog, Prince of Darkness, and In the Mouth of Madness, I haven't really heard much podcast discussion on any of these and there is a lot to talk about.

Man, I really have a soft spot for those Zombie ones. I know their trash, but like...I just have so much fun watching them.

Rob Zombie is a filmmaker that, like Kevin Smith, I’m afraid to go back to in my 30s. I really think I might hate all of it.

Listening to the Halloween episode has me hankering to watch it. My bandmates have never seen it and I am planning a viewing in October.

I actually got it from my local library the other day, I'll probably make time to watch it this weekend at some point

Was pretty 6/10 on Candyman but also totally glad it’s doing well.

Surprised they got through the whole thing with no mention of the sheriff's name

I watched the thing for the first time last night and thought it was much better than Halloween.

but I honestly wouldn’t put either in the top 5 they’ve covered

just off the top of my head

    silence of the lambs
    Stop making sense
    The matrix
    Back to the future
    Mad max: fury road

The Thing is definitely in the upper echelon of what they've covered. But yeah idk if it's objectively the best. In addition to what @TJ Wells listed, remember they've also covered all of Miyazaki's films lol.

I think there's a better case to be made that Spirited Away is the best film they've ever covered, personally.

Ok yeah Back To The Future and Halloween are two of my favorite movies

As much as I like The Matrix, Silence of the Lambs, and Fury Road, they're a tier below The Thing for me

Spirited Away I can't argue against, truly great film

The Thing wouldn't even be my pick for favorite Carpenter

Carpenter is a massive blind spot for me, I hadn't seen really any of his stuff except for Halloween and The Thing prior to this. But of the movies I have seen now (everything up to The Thing plus Someone's Watching Me, Elvis, and Body Bags), The Thing is easily the best lol
