I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, maybe more than Bogus Journey.

 

Excellent Adventure > Face The Music > Bogus Adventure

 

I watched all these for the first time over the last week and I’m so glad they made the third.

The perfect mix of the fun of time travel from the first, the batshit weirdness of the second, and added a whole lot of heart.

I was smiling the whole damn time. What a film.

 

Heh, my ranking would be reversed. All great films though.

 

I still would rank Excellent Adventure #1 and put Face the Music at #3, but I love all three of them so the ranking doesn't really mean much. I just have so much nostalgia tied up in Excellent Adventure so I can't not rank it first.

Cant believe people placing Bogus over Excellent. Shame on you all lol

 

It's even weirder and even more fun imo!

 

I think Excellent Adventure probably edges Bogus Journey but it's hard to deny how great the characters were in the later.

 

Re-watched the first two over the last couple of days and I’d put Bogus as #1 as well. Hoping I can get to the new one today.

 

I give Bogus the edge just because of how batshit crazy it is. The guts to follow up a successful comedy with such a left turn is admirable.

I grew up watching the originals with my younger sister and we just finished watching this. We both had a blast. Truly the feel good movie I needed.

 

Knowing they've been working on this one script for years and years, it was good to assume they would have ironed out all potential issues with the script by the time of release, and therefore overall quality would come down to simply how big of a budget they got. For the movie we did get, they delivered on all fronts, a movie that kept the heart and tone of the two previous films, yet tread new ground on it's own. So happy to see the nearly universal acclaim this is getting

 

Was quite happy to pay the $20 to see this as well. But on torrent sites it's BY FAR the most popular file being shared too, showing the true popularity of the movie

 

Are online movie purchases/streams tracked anywhere, like on Boxofficemojo for movie theater releases? Would love to see how well this is doing

 

This is mine too. I might even give the nod to FTM though, but that might be hype having just watched it. I watched the first two again over the past couple weeks though to lead up.

 

I'm pretty sure I saw Bogus Journey as a kid before seeing Excellent Adventure, so maybe I'm a tad biased. I watched the cartoon before either though.

 

Yeah, Bogus Journey just got a lot more play from me growing up and is at least partially responsible for my taste in movies that go for broke when it comes to being bonkers

 

Haven't watched this yet (still want to rewatch the old ones) but seeing the rankings makes me wish Face the Music was named more in line with Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey (Epic Odyssey?)

Damn it's almost like everyone who grew up in the era of the originals being cult classics is now old enough to spend their own disposable income lol

 

Never watched any of these, should watch them soon based on the praise for this
