That song is in a similar vein, but I’m not sure if that’s it. It’s close and it might be but even only after a few hours the melody is escaping me already.

the song in the video seems a couple beats too quick to be the one but honestly not sure already.

I also wanted to add that there were times during this song that I was like damn she sounds like Brandon Flowers here.

I also saw a clip of them playing it last night but those “wake me up to drive” lyrics aren’t in there so I’m not sure what that new song is

 

Pitchfork announced the festival streaming schedule and Big Thief isn’t on it. Wtf

So good to finally them live tonight at Pitchfork. They closed with what has to be that new “heavy” song and it knocked me on my ass. All the new stuff. James’ kick drum broke at the beginning of Not and he, pun intended, did not miss a beat.

Such a special group of musicians.

Watched the livestream last night. Their performance of “Not” was incredible. Just kept going and going, despite no kick drum. Somehow it was even more intense than usual? I was stunned.

 

Incredible performance of “Not”. It was better than the one in Indy two nights ago.

tbh I saw great band after great band yesterday and I still don’t think a single one came close to sniffing how great Big Thief was. Even Phoebe Bridgers commented “Big Thief right? Best in the game”

 

When Adrianne just went full acapella for a”Orange” I died.

i wrote them off so hard as a generic saddle creek band when I first heard masterpiece the song (which is great don’t get me wrong but no favorite of mine), then finally went back and listened to that whole record like a year ago and I swear like 5 or 6 songs in they just decide they’re going to be the best band of the next 10 years and from there out basically every song in the discography is unbelievable

 

So excited to see them again tonight. Last night was great but a full set is gonna be awesome

Nope full band adaptation. Was really cool and spooky. I think they changed the setlist at the very last minute because the tech guy initially got one guitar ready for Adrianne to start with but then switched it out when he came out to tape setlists right before they started

 

Shit I need studio versions of the new songs so so bad. Simulation Swarm and Dragon especially

 

That sounds awesome. I think that's the first song from songs that they've done full band, aside from the ones they did before the album.

Looks like last night they played the exact same set with small adjustments to the order (source, slide 2). Seems out of character for them

 

Curios to see if anything from songs makes the new record.

 

I also can not wait another day for an album announcement. I haven’t anticipated a record this much in a long while.

 

Person on reddit said they taped last night's show which included 2 songs that I haven't seen full recordings of yet - setlist names were 'Flower of Blood' and 'Blurred View' which I think is the "quiet room" song. Also full band ingydar. Hopefully they post it soon. Max tried to livestream some of the set on IG last night but the video kept pausing and cutting out

They still haven't played Little Things yet aside from soundcheck

 

Certainty was released exactly 4 weeks after Little Things/Sparrow. Maybe we'll get an album announcement 4 weeks after Certainty, which would be October 5th?

 

I mean I feel like at this point we have to be getting a double album (or 2 like UFOF and Two Hands). There’s just so many songs out there.

I downloaded this. Sounds terrible obviously. They played “Blurred View” in Indy, I remember because it was super eerie and Adrianne stopped it about 45 seconds in to restart it, she wanted it more “hushed”. It’s an awesome tune.

checking out the other one next. Hoping it’s the wake me up to drive tune.

edit: I don’t believe I’ve ever heard “Flower of Blood”, but wow it sounds like it fucking rips.
