The word from all the recent Bright Eyes shows have been brutal, he's apparently been way too drunk on stage and its just an absolute shitshow. Like needing a roadie to tie his shoes bad.

Boston was an incredible performance as well, I’ve seen bright eyes & Conor solo a bunch of times over the years and Boston last week was one of the best!

 

He was great in Cleveland too.

 

This was in Cleveland (or Columbus), a friend went and told me Connor was def inebriated, lots of ranting about religion and telling odd stories (something about one of his pets eating a turkey's eye out), comments about wanting to crucify a cat, needing someone off-stage to tie his shoes, forgetting the words to a handful of songs, screaming about mic problems and throwing his gear. There were some more details on Reddit. Not saying he's not allowed to have a bad night, just saying my friend (huge Bright Eyes fan) told me this like immediately after the show last weekend.

 

There are other stories, from Reddit and the Facebook group, of him being extremely intoxicated while on stage and the ensuing result of that. While I have heard that for the most part the music portions of the show have been mostly okay, this is a recurring issue to the point longtime fans seem concerned, or at least concerned enough to point it out.

 

I’ve heard about Conor being drunk onstage for years and years. Definitely not a newer thing.

I don’t necessarily think he’s an alcoholic but it’s valid to be annoyed by him consistently getting so drunk that he turns into a weirdo onstage
