I can't take credit for it but the guy who plays Lyle was hash tagging all of his IG posts from the beginning of the season as #BetterDialLyle

Obviously from a place of bias but I dislike all the Emmy prediction articles I'm reading

Are they not going BCS’s way? I honestly expect BCS to clean up this year.

The couple I read have BCS in 4th for actor and drama. Do have Rhea for her emmy, but bleh. Squid Game being ranked above this hurts my brain

While I would love to think this was timed perfectly to get votes, i do still worry Succession will sweep again. I love Succession too but really want BCS to get it's due.

I know Gilligan has said on record if they do ever do another BB-Universe spinoff it would be the Kim Wexler show, but honestly i want a young Mike in 1970's Philly prequel series following his journey from a rookie cop straight out of Vietnam to a morally gray detective.

"I've seen bad cops, good criminals, crooked priests, and honorable thieves. Good and Bad on both sides of the law" line can be the basis for entire series just sayin.

The ending worked for the story they had set up from the beginning. Chuck's speech about how Jimmy would never change sets up two paths; either he weasels his way out of it again, or he decides to break the mold. What is a little jarring is it is not as if he was slowly starting to realize his wrongs; he was arguably at his most directly criminal, breaking into homes and almost choking an old lady to death.

On a broader scope, Gilligan and his team have a very rigid moral code that isn't really enforced in real life, or even other anti-hero shows. Virtually every major player in the drug business is killed or arrested, with the exception of minor players (Huell and Cuby, Skinny Pete and Badger) or characters who were sucked into the world through more evil forces (Kim, Skylar, and Jesse). If Robert Forster had been alive they probably would have had another scene to wrap up that loose end so we know crime doesn't pay.

The bus chanting scene is the worst scene in the show by far. Other than that, it was overall better than Breaking Bad, with a better supporting cast, more consistent seasons, and a more coherent moral message.

It is absolutely baffling to me that Vince, Peter and the other writers talk about certain story things that they start with. With zero idea on how it will end up moving forward. Like having Howard be the antagonist and switching it to Chuck. Killing off Jesse. Making Mike only because Bob Odenkirk had a scheduling conflict. Giving Walt a machine gun with zero idea on what would happen with it. Kim’s fate.

I feel like they are either insane geniuses or fucking with everyone.

how can this all not be planned out??

Also funny is Vince wanting no part of creating a Lalo character out of that one throwaway line

You can never plan too far with a show. A cast member might quit or die, the show can be canceled, the network might order less episodes in a season, the writers can go on strike. Shows that keep a cohesive narrative despite the turmoil deserve praise.

What's fucked up... Mike references the date he took his first bribe, March 17, 1984... the date I was born.

Jimmy also mentions the date October 4, 2009, the date Walt had people killed in prison... that's the exact day my wife and I started officially dating.

These are fictional crimes, man. You don't have to try that hard to establish an alibi...

Just got to season 3. I can already tell Jimmy and Kim is the best love story in television history.
