Just popping in to say how refreshing this entire series has been. It’s been a bit since I’ve been so captivated by something that I literally have to stop myself from watching all night and force a reasonable pace.

I started binging the show close to the end of its mid season hiatus and it will go down as one of the most beloved shows for me, ever.

So much is offered by this series that I can’t put into this brief, appreciative post but couldn’t not let my joy spread its wings a bit.

  2. Just finished season 5. Should be all done within a week or so, can’t wait to see the final episodes.

  3. Bus chant was extremely odd.

Nice sendoff otherwise. I was surprised Jimmy chose to redeem himself in the end.

Will miss this cast. Jonathan, Patrick and Rhea especially.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I really love Odenkirk's idea that Kim visits him once a year. it's so oddly wholesome

I feel like I’m the only one hoping Kim never sees Jimmy again and goes on to live a happy and prosperous life helping disadvantaged people with her expertise in law.

So I guess we are getting a new Bob Odenkirk series and a new Giancarlo Esposito series on AMC?

    I'm down for it.

I watched the next 4 or 5 episodes after Sauls premiere in BB and it's not surprising but you really do view everything differently. It's really cool.

I thought the finale was...pretty good? Smooth landing and that's always impressive. Wasn't sure about the sudden change of heart but I guess that's the point; you can choose to take at least some responsibility for your actions at any point, even after the most ruinous consequences. The only aspect I disliked was the last ten or so minutes; not that the prison needed to be shown as overtly miserable – I'm actually glad they didn't go heavy handed on the bleakness – but going the other way I think really waters down the point. Jimmy's sacrifice has more impact without diluting it by showing he's in prison but hey, all his fellow convicts are best mates with him so he'll be fine. It didn't need that in my opinion.

Overall though, this has been a great show. Beautifully written, acted and produced, better than it had any right to be and a more than worthy addition to this universe. I've been a bit disappointed with this season, especially after the previous couple which were, by and large, excellent. It never jumped the shark though, and its tone and heart has almost always remained on point. Essentially been eleven seasons of a narrative story written by the same people over fifteen years, and for the quality to remain as high as it has is insane really.

So… I don’t have AMC through any of my streaming channels and I figured I’d wait until the last season had aired so that I could binge it during a 7-day free trial of AMC+. Turns out AMC+ only has the back half of the season available and that’s only for a limited time. Any other way to watch without buying episodes? Or am I gonna have to wait a year until it (possibly) be on Netflix?

If you have a VPN, the UK has them all on Netflix. Otherwise I'm not sure if you have other options unless you have cable that has it on demand?

I too use the VPN/Netflix workaround

  14. AMC+ doesn’t even have the first half of season 6, lol. But it does have the second half! Thanks guys!

I re-watched El Camino last night. First time since it came out three years ago. Not as good as BB or BCS, but still entertaining nonetheless.

Plemons does such a great job at making Todd the most soulless of all BB universe characters. Like, the dude feels mentally off just enough that it scares the hell out of me.

Yeah recency bias I know but it was just perfect. I’m trying to think but it’s definitely up there with The Sopranos and Mad Men finales. BB and The Wire had weak finales imo

So, someone I follow on Twitter is saying they're "let down by the finale" because "a call on a life alert from an elderly person would immediately set off a city wide manhunt is still making me laugh."

Like, in real life, someone that wanted by the FBI would absolutely set off a city-wide manhunt within minutes.

Finale was great, but I feel like it will be overlooked (just like the rest of the show has been) because it was a little more understated than most shows. They didn't go out with some big shocking twist or character death that most shows tend to go for, but of course, they didn't need that for this show at all. It was a perfect way to wrap up the plot and character arc, but as far as a singular episode, I doubt people will be talking about it for years to come. Who knows.
