I am so disappointed about how lame "Rookery" turned out, the version he played live in the Noonday era was one of my favourite Ben songs ever... so much potential missed here :(

has he strayed quite a bit from the sounds of the first record which I loved but can’t remember the name of?

yeah.. I really haven’t loved anything since the debut but this is a really different vibe. Honestly this might be one of my favorite things I’ve heard all year.

always wanted to love the sophomore record with a name I’m also blanking on but it just paled in comparison to the debut that I adored with a title something like all castles?

I’ll make a point to give this new one a listen based on what people are saying

this is quite like the last album. jazzy and more electric guitars than sparse acoustic stuff like the first one. the second is my favorite of his and the most unique but this one is rad. very dessnerfied too.

Every Kingdom was the name, I Forget Where We Were is the second album

I... really think y'all should try IFWWW again sometime. it's an absolutely staggering piece of work, one of my favourite albums of last decade

I have listened to the new album for about 5 times already. It's definitely a grower. You can feel Bon Iver's influence and Dessner's touch. I would throw away a couple of songs out, and then we could have a great record of 10-11 songs.

I still don't know why chorus.fm doesn't acknowledge Ben's music that much. And we don't see him in the news section.
