Considering they almost filled Thalia Hall in October the price on the secondary market is totally understandable.

I'm surprised Pitchfork didn't get them. I can't see Lolla having them back two years in a row (but that's not entirely unheard of for an up-and-coming act like them) so maybe they're playing Riot Fest or are going to do another headlining tour over the summer or fall.

Balcony was pretty open so I was hedging a bit.

It was snowing and quite shitty out that day (from my memory) so I imagine that’s why it wasn’t completely full, but it sure seemed sold out on the floor.

This may as well be a day at the beach with this weather so good timing for this show

Think Metro is gonna play Joyce Manors entire discography before Field Medic

This is the first time I’ve ever felt old at a Beach Bunny show.

The talkers were unrelenting during Field Medic

It’s because his music is softer and he’s not a loud singer I think.

I hope they continue to play smaller shows in Chicago after this. Seeing them at the Metro (and Thalia) is cool but the smaller shows are so fun. The show at Sleeping Village last week was great.

Oh no these people were shouting these conversations that I could pick up with earplugs

Left after Six Weeks as the three jabrones in the entire venue that were old enough to drink were continuously bumping into me in the back for the second half of the album play.

But what an album play it was

The show was super fun. I love that there are pits at their shows. I wonder where they will play next (venue wise)? Maybe The Riv at this point?

This is basically our generation’s Smashing Pumpkins, doing sold out album release shows at the Metro in their hometown on the way to stardom.

I saw them play at House Cafe in Dekalb and I felt super old there lol, the Chicago shows haven’t been as bad yet but maybe they are catching up.

It definitely has. I remember when Prom Queen came out the crowd at the release show for that was like 90% people in the local scene, last night was probably the fewest familiar faces I've seen at a BB show in a while (even more so than the Thalia Hall show). It's a different vibe for sure. The pit does also not go as hard as it used to lol

What was their set like? I’m trying to figure how they’d fill an hour, lmao

I was at that show too and you’re absolutely right, it was a lot of their friends/people in the local scene/etc. I’m definitely happy they are getting huge but it is just a totally different vibe seeing them (crowd wise).

They can easily fill an hour. They did it last night and they don’t even play all the songs they’ve released (they don’t play a lot of the really older songs).

Pouring one out for my personal all time fav BB song that will probably never get played again
