I understood the scene's purpose and respected it. I just wished they did it better or went another route. The saving of the girl was kind of cheesy; from the CGI to staring in the sky while holding her for too long.

Saw this again today with the kiddos. Liked it quite a bit more, still not great.

Found it odd pacing to choose to tie in all the JL stuff with Wonder Woman right fucking before the title conflict. I also was quite a bit more let down with the combat, too. Hands down the best looking action scene was Batman saving Martha Kent, but sequences like the car chase and post-apocalyptic dream looked awful.

Is the Red Hood story streamable somewhere? Netflix, Hulu, what have you?

Son of Batman is the only one on Netflix right now.

How is that, do you know? I need to watch more DC stuff.

Because I went on Netflix and searched it? lol.

You can find them on any of the torrent sites. I usually download them two weeks or so before their release. Last few have been great outside of the voice acting.

Haha got it. Yeah. It is pretty good.

Son of Batman, Batman vs Robin, and Bad Blood follow flow really well together. I would watch those in that order. It's also fairly in line with the New 52 continuity.

The Justice League films have been pretty great lately. Flashpoint is nuts. War and Throne of Atlantis are in the same continuity. I liked JL vs TT quite a bit.

Gods and Monsters is batshit crazy if you are into Elseworld stuff.

I'd like to watch this again, mostly for the Batman scenes and also to better form my opinion, but it's not worth a normal evening showing to me. I'll catch it for a matinee showing. After some further thoughts from my original viewing, my biggest issues are:

Batman so quickly having a change of heart about Superman because their mothers share the same name. I know that the name "Martha" caused Bruce to pause so that Lois and Clark could explain Lex's plot, but what about that whole "1% chance" thing?

Lex's plan with Doomsday having no endgame other than... Doomsday destroying everything. What a plan!

Even though it made me chuckle in the theatre, I HATED the "I'm a friend of your son's" line for a couple of reasons: 1) the movie was so drab and dreary, that was the moment they chose to add a quip? Right after she was kidnapped, threatened, probably beaten, and watched a man get blown up in front of her? Ok. and 2) Batman WASN'T Superman's friend! He was moments from killing him earlier. It was just not good

All that said, I'm all in on the Batfleck. I hope those films are prequels so I don't have to invest too much thought into the Justice League movies (though I really hope they are good! I just don't have much confidence)

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

They went from Point A to Point E in Batman-Supes relationship in 2 minutes of time. No proper build at all. When Bruce says that he failed Superman that line especially doesn't land at all given that he was friendly with Supes all of 5 minutes before his death.

The saying the name Martha scene bothered me, too. I thought it was cheesy, but what I got from it was that Bruce finally saw Clark Kent as a "human being." He saw that much more in him than a ticking time bomb; that'd he'd actually care about this earth because he has loved ones here. Much of that is my gathering, more so than the movie implying it, but I can't defend Zach Snyder's incompetence.

Or perhaps, that's what I wish was going on in that scene. I really wish Batman and Superman becoming friends was much more than that.

Yea, exactly. In the entire movie Batman promised Superman one thing, and he fulfilled that promise. That line stuck out like a sore thumb to me, too.

Maguire literally had zero charisma when he delivered quips as Spider-man whereas Garfield was the opposite. It annoys me that Maguire was the first (and so far most commercially successful) cinematic representation of Spider-man/Peter Parker because I think lots of people who aren't familiar with the comics think that's how he's meant to be because it was their first experience with the character. If Tom Holland's version is closer to Maguire's and Spider-man loses his sense of humour again (one of the best things about the character imo), I will be incredibly disappointed. :uhoh:

For people that are familiar with Spider-man and still like Maguire's portrayal... I just can't explain that haha

Wasn't sure where to as to post this. It still fits since some people are asking about similar titles.

I thought the Maguire version had more humor, but it has been years since I've seen it. The only scene in ASM where he really says anything funny was the car thief, and that's one or two lines.

It basically turned into Bruce thinking Superman's last words were "Hey Bruce! Your mother!" and then them having a "Step Brothers" "Did we just become best friends?" moment.

If Joker is Jason Todd in the universe then wouldn't it be possible that he hasn't killed him for that reason?

(I thought BvS was awful so it's also possible that there is no good reason)

If they are planning a Red Hood film, why would Jason Todd be Joker. lol

Plot twist: Jason Todd is Joker; Bruce Wayne is Red Hood; Joe Chill is Batman.
