As a fan of all of Somos's work I'll just stop by to say

they're great.

i dont listen to this record as much as i thought i would.

 

On the contrary, I listen to this way more than I thought I would. The vocals are gr8

 

I just havnt listened to this a ton because there is sooooo much new music I'm hitting right now - but not because this isn't great

 

yeah this has stayed in constant rotation along with the big group of stuff that's come out in the last month (from indian lakes, lvl up, joyce, flock of dimes, bellows, crying, jeff)

 

Joyce Manor has all my attention right now, but I still dig this a lot, gonna give it some time to settle

 

I'm just constantly going back and forth between this, JM and KDev.

ehhhhhhhh i mean. it's definitely not twy style pop punk or anything like that

 

pop punk and electronic tinged doesn't sound good on paper to me at all haha

perhaps I'll check it bc this thread keeps going on about it

 

the electronics are pretty understated. a few synths here and there. they sound like have mercy, prawn, you blew it, bands like that.

 

damn I've heard of You Blew It but that's it

I hope I dont fall down a rabbit hole of scary new music

 

There's really nothing pop or punk about Somos anymore.

They're like a lowkey chiller vibe version of dikembe.

 

id probably like somos more if their singer had a better voice. but the new album is still cool.

 

Prawn? Hmmm that might be enough to check this out.

I thought that one Prawn album was boring as sin but even regardless I don't think they sound that much alike.

sounds nothing like prawn imo, prawn takes the post-rock side a lot more

have mercy a little bit but i don't see that either

really i don't particularly like any of the comparisons said including my own haha
