currently reading an advanced copy of the band's memoir, Do What You Want, written by Jim Ruland.

maybe it's a little dull compared to NOFX's band bio since the BR guys live such straightforward nerdy lives, but all the tidbits about recording their early material is so enjoyable.

 

Ive been thinking about getting this. I know it's mainly supposed to be Brett, Greg, Jay and Brian. Just curious what the rest of the content is like.

 

I'm so excited for this book! I know I'm going to devour the whole thing in one weekend haha

Have you read The Replacements book? It's really damn good even if you don't know the music.

Lol I checked out the first Chris Mars solo album and it's a good little 90s alt album!

Digging the re-working of this song. I like the piano. Against The Grain is an underrated BR album.

 

i've been thinking about this band a lot the last few weeks with how crazy the country has been and i think this release is the push i need to do a real dive on their catalog. i've been a casual fan for years but theres a bunch of albums i've never touched.

 

Imo there are no bad albums, just less-good ones

 

You'll be surprised how relevant their 20-30 year old songs still are.

 

Their lyrics are so on point and relevant. I wish even more people listened to this band. Songs like News From the Front and so many others.

It actually is haha. It also makes me angry, but in a good way.

 

BR is without hyperbole my favorite band ever. They have songs that cover pretty much the entire emotional spectrum for me and have soundtracked the last decade of my life!

 

Faith Alone 2020 reminds me of what a new American Lesion record would sound like.

 

My copy of the new book shipped early and will be here Wednesday! Going on a beach trip this weekend and will be nice to relax on the beach and dive into this.

 

So jealous! I think mine ships tomorrow!
