Thankfully I've got two years of another podcast under my belt! Not an overly successful one, but we've got the tech covered :crylaugh:

1.) Been on an Empire and Generator kick since the weekend.

2.) Wild that the Decade shows started a year ago already!

Allan Corona (dude who makes Mark Hoppus basses) made a replica of Jay’s Schecter Pbass. He nailed it!

People can say what they want about The New America but honestly, I loved the change in direction. I love what they went on to do after, of course, but TNA is absolutely underrated. I enjoy some of the more personal songs.

It’s definitely their most poppy album. It’s got a lot of good songs on it too. The production experience didn’t seem to be the best for them at the time. Greg was basically just checking off s box since he was able to work with an idol of his during a tough personal time. In Hawaii lol.

I’ll always remember pool days and jumping off my friends roof into his pool while this album played on repeat.

I liked how those records in the early 90’s to mid 2000’s showed their versatility. It has contributed to their longevity

Back on a No Substance kick. I swear I’ve return to that and Generator the most over the past year or so.

No Substance is such a cool record. The song No Substance has just felt so fitting to what was happening in the US.

Gosh, I’ll be surprised if we get anything this year, tbh. We got a TON of material from them for the AOU era. Fingers crossed we do get something though. New song, EP, album, Decades boxset……lol.

It’d be nice to know there’s a plan to make another record at some point and not too far away. They had built some great momentum with Age of Unreason and The Decade’s Shows, and they did get some touring in.

As much as I want new stuff, I can’t be greedy. AOU and True North are two GREAT records a band who has been around as long as they have has no business making. I’ll trust they make another when it can stand shoulder to shoulder with anything else they do.

I don’t think it’s greedy to wasn’t new music less than 6 six years apart. They are very much in a position not to compromise making music to rush out a record. But, they looked like they were having lots of fun playing and performing together, and musically Greg still sounds amazing and the musicianship is tight and in sync from doing the live shows. I’m not looking for a 2022 album, but they indicated there was a lot to write about during AOU in the world and I don’t feel like the world is in an entirely better place.

That these guys are this tight (as tight as they’ve ever been live) this far into it is a god damn miracle.

What I love most about these dudes and their live set is that they’re old school and plug straight in. No effect pedals or weird tunings. They’re just plugged straight into old school amps or a kemper if needed. They’re definitely the AC/DC of punk rock haha.

to be fair, Jay and Brian stepped up they’re stage attire game since Mike joined the band! But what’s great is that Greg still totally dresses like a dad who’s transitioning to into Grandfather mode, but where’s Nikes instead of New Balance haha.
