I just don't like music. So many sounds CLASHING with each other so violently.

    Overwhelming!

And then add words to it? Too much.

my bad opinion today is that I judge every single person who I see on here buying or even trying to buy springsteen and beyonce tickets, both because this will only get worse if ppl keep buying way-overpriced tix and because it's annoying when people demonstrably have both more fun and (way) more money than me

I saw Beyonce live, cost me €80 or so at the time, kind of wasn’t worth it. The venue was so big (it was one of Europe’s biggest soccer stadiums) and the sound was so bad that I might as well have watched a bootleg livestream. It was the On The Run Tour. Jay’s parts were better in terms of sound but in my opinion those huge venues work even less well for rappers.

Saw her at Coachella and it's probably the single best show I've ever seen, absolutely unreal

While a product of its time, I still enjoy Our Last Night's The Ghosts Among Us. Never listened to anything beyond that first album, but it still scratches the itch when I'm in the mood for screamo, post-hardcore, etc.

Edit: not sure if this is even the appropriate thread lol

  16. I don't know... I remember Our Last Night being quite revered on ap.net up until We Will All Evolve. If this was about the material they've done since, sure.

This year, I have been making an effort to go to non-rock concerts more. I’ve been incredibly bored of seeing the same things time and again.

So I’ve been to three pop gigs this year instead, and it’s been WAY more fun. I can’t tell if it’s just because it’s different, but I think seeing CRJ was the most fun I’ve had at a concert for years. Turns out 90% of rock/punk bands are fucking boring in comparison.

high praise. theyre pretty good but i dont know if i would compare them to the biggest hardcore punk pioneer of this generation

  22. They’re probably not the most significant hardcore punk pioneers, but they’re having the kind of crossover appeal we haven’t seen since the Beastie Boys. Turnstile are a great band

Like what does that even mean lol. At least they’ve always been a hardcore band. MGK got bullied out of an entire genre and turned to pop punk for relevance

My real bad opinion for this thread is that MGK's pop-punk music isn't bad (despite him as a person)

You can sometimes fool yourself into thinking that, until you then compare it to the music it is emulating. That applies to a lot of new pop punk though, to varying degrees and for various reasons.
