Yep, this one might be the purest representation of what this thread is all about.

 

I think Dookie is probably better than Dude Ranch or Enema but Green Day does not have two Dookies (American Idiot is good but something different imo) and Blink almost does

I’m not sure what exactly that means but I’m sticking to it lol

insomniac alone is about a billion times better than dude ranch but i get it, this is a blink 182 webbed site

Always found that one overrated too. It's okay.

 

I really want to be into the all the Green Day albums people are into but I’m really only truly into Dookie, Kerplunk and American Idiot

 

Dookie is a pretty perfect album. Kerplunk is okay, Nirmod is mostly good. American Idiot has some stinkers but is mostly good. I appreciate the ambition. Insomniac getting thrown out as the example of better than Dude Ranch is wild. Warning and Shenanigans are also pretty great.

None are better than Dude Ranch, Dookie is better than everything else that blink has done. Then it's Enema and then the rest variates between bands.

 

there is not a single less than great song on insomniac and it is one of the best punk records i can think of

 

Green Day have always been a singles band for me. Love a lot of their songs but none of their albums interest me all the way through.

Untitled is much better than any Green Day album imo.

Big Kiss Goodnight is probably the best record discussed in this thread for the last 5 pages so I'll stand by that assessment, thank you very much.

I liked the Turnstile album the one time I listened to it and I don’t doubt the assessments of the hardcore (as in genre, not enthusiasm) fans that praise them on here, but they also kind of give me “band inside a video game” vibes. That might not make sense but I don’t think I can articulate it better lol

 

I have no idea what that means but I’d love to hear more
