Sublime sucks.

 

Sublime is a band that I hate probably like 95% of the time, but then there’s that small percentage that they happen to come on at the right place at the right time and I’m not gonna be the guy frowning my way through What I Got

 

I love Brad Nowell’s voice. But for the most part, I think Sublime sucks.

It’s semantics, obviously not many artists can even reach the level of popularity combined with influence that the Beatles did. It’s just extremely hard. But as comps, it’s a fair parallel and they’re both all-time groups

 

beatles might be "better" but i'd much rather listen to ATLiens or Stankonia than any beatles album most days

 

The Beatles are absolutely better. Outkast are fuckin’ great though.

 

this convo is always a bit weird. i’m not gonna try to tell anyone who primarily listens to rap why the beatles are “better” when their influence has largely no influence over rap and when the other artist is as great as outkast. there’s a fair argument outkast has influenced genres outside of rap more than the beatles have influenced rap.

 

I don't even listen to the Beatles and it's exhausting when ppl compare everyone to the Beatles. they're like the pop culture phenom of all time and I feel like it's impossible to hold anyone else to that standard and it's def usually done for the hot take
