It's 2021 and nothing could compel me to listen to The Beatles or The Rolling Stones

 

music history is cool. the Beatles and Rolling Stones both did a lot of p dope stuff imo

imagine saying it’s 2021 i’m only watching superhero films lol. wild stuff here.

 

Both are great in their own ways. If you combine the discographies, the Stones would have 5 of the top 6 albums, then the Beatles would have the next like, 6, haha.

Abbey Road rules and is probably narrowly better than Let It Bleed on the strength of its insane singles and the closing medley, but to its credit Bleed has no "'Maxwell's Silver Hammer" bullshit and leads off with IMVHO the greatest song ever recorded.

 

both bands are good. stones are always gonna edge it out to me. people talk about the stones diluting the product bc they kept going, pretending that the beatles wouldn’t have absolutely gotten back together in the 80s for bad albums like the solo stuff the members have put out the last 40+ years

Don’t know if it’s a bad opinion here, but The Ataris cover of “Boys of Summer” is good and gave the song a nice pop-punk update for the time while keeping the desperation and longing of the original. It got way too much guff.

I’ve listened to one Stones record in full. Not like I dislike them, just haven’t gotten around to their other records
