Loaded is their best album. Like...it's not even that tight a race.

The Velvet Underground also rules. As does like 2/3 of the album with Nico.

Lou Reed has grown into one of my favorite writers with time and more solo exploration.

all four albums rule but there's no doubt in my mind that the velvet underground (closet mix) is their best

arguments about if it's technically a VU album or not aside, Squeeze is actually pretty good.

"Rock and Roll", "Sweet Jane" and "Oh Sweet Nuthin'" are probably the 3 best songs Lou Reed, one of the best to ever do it, wrote, and they're all on one record.

When I was like 13 my family visited the rock and roll hall of fame. I bought Please Kill Me, the Legs McNeil book on the history of punk, because I loved the Ramones. The beginning is all about the Velvet Underground, so I downloaded “Waiting For My Man” off Limewire and listened to it and was like “this is not what I expected at all” but ended up really liking them and not having any other 13 year olds to talk about it with.

Decided to start a reread of Please Kill Me tonight, coincidentally, since I know a lot more about all these people and bands than I did when I was 13. Book is really great.

pale blue eyes is better than each and every one of those songs, and oh sweet nuthin is great because of yule, not reed

I was going to argue the last point but honestly it’s just nice to see people appreciate Yule. Haha

I’m with Steve too. If Squeeze was credited as a Yule solo album, it’d be a cult classic by now

I got Velvet Underground and Velvet Revolver confused for the longest time, so I just never listened to them.
