Okay but really though, for that genre of rock Breaking Benjamin is one of the better options.

Puddle of Mud, Smile Empty Soul

 

I love Chevelle, so far all their releases has been great including the one that dropped last week. Their old martial still holds up as well. I'm a huge fan of the first 3 Breaking Benjamin albums, but can't get behind the last 2. They bring the word "Bland" to mind.

 

I'd love to see a cat scan of someone whose favorite band is Puddle of Mudd.

EDIT: You edited Smile Empty Soul after I replied but I like everything I've heard from them .

Also agreed. Except for When the World Comes Down, which is a bad album

 

I think Brand New is great but they're sort of arbitrarily put on a pedestal that I don't believe they've done anything special to earn.

That's my favorite album by them, but there are a handful of songs from Deja and Daisy that are awesome. I have an perfect mix when I want to listen to them, Almost all of TDAG with Sic Transit, Okay I believe you, Quiet things, Jaws, Play Crack the Sky, Vices, At the Bottom, Gasoline, Bought a Bride, Sink and You Stole.
Even though I like all those songs, I still think they are nothing too special which is know can get you banned from this site.

 

No one's getting banned lol. I think there are way more people on this site that are meh about Brand New than one would think, but their big fans are just very vocal

 

well if that's it then nothing Just didn't want this to turn into a "You guys who don't like her music don't are anti *fill in the blank*" discussions that pop up so much on this site.

Yay, haven't talked about the Rejects in along time, thanks from bringing them up! I love their first two albums and kind of fell off with their popper stuff. I revisit their live dvds a lot, love how much energy they have when they rock out. I'm seeing them with ADTR and Blink and I'm curious since they now have songs they can't rock to at all like Give You Hell if they will still put on a good show.

 

I think the problem is that your post sort of implied the person you were replying to was throwing shade specifically at Baker's message and role within the music world right now, when he was pretty clearly just talking about the musicianship/instrumentation. His words were strong and I don't entirely agree with them, but not once did he say she was unimportant or uninfluential.

 

Then why use the vocabulary he did rather than calling her music uneventful?

 

Nah I think it's unique. I think Move Along is most widely considered their best, while Kids InThe Street has sort of garnered the "cult classic" status at this point. I like all of their albums but I associate the best memories with WTWCD. Just came at a really interesting turning point in my life.

 

Because when he hears it, it probably doesn't cause an event to occur.
