The Moon and Antarctica is easily my favorite Modest Mouse album

 

Building Nothing Out of Something, despite not being a real album, is the best Modest Mouse album

M&A is great but honestly it gets a lot of mileage out of how good the first two songs are

 

The first two tracks are two of their best, can’t argue that

 

Life like weeds is the best song on there though

 

It should go back to being called “unpopular”. No one thinks their opinions are bad but everyone knows their opinions may be unpopular to some. Whether it’s bad or not is subjective.

Not personally put off by it, I think it’s a funny development. The people that post in here know what it is, and the only newcomers that would be put off by it are probably too self serious for the thread anyway

i love 3 and houses of the holy the most.

 

i feel like 2 and 4 get the most love. but yeah. 3 and HOTH are my faves too.

 

2 is my favorite but 3 rules. Out on the Tiles and Gallows Pole are two of their best and severely underrated.

Only listened to 1 and 2 for the first time during the lockdown. Was one of those shitty people who only listened to their greatest hits before that. Need to listen to more of their albums proper.

Also how is preferring any Led Zep album in anyway a bad opinion???

 

3 was always a weird outlier in their discog outside of Immigrant Song when I was growing up probably due to all the acoustic tracks but I've definitely grown to appreciate it. Some amazing deep cuts in there: Celebration Day, Out on the Tiles, Tangerine, etc.
