Ugh, that sounds frustrating. And I can only imagine that kind of thing happens pretty frequently.

tbh I had like a 256 GB iPod that I had absolutely filled with music and, while I miss a lot of the b-sides/rare shit that’s never gonna be on streaming, I haven’t really thought much about my iPod (or getting a new one) beyond the year it died and I subbed to Apple Music.

yeah all I miss from the ipod days was when I had an absurd amount of Thursday b-sides/demos/bootlegs.

This exactly, I miss my iPod classic. Spotify is cool for finding new stuff but I miss just tossing my iPod on shuffle when I didn’t know what I was in the mood for.

    a literal succubitch

This is why I maintain an offline playlist of highlights from what I've been listening to for easy shuffle access whenever I want it.

This is why I like Apple Music so much. It’s the library I’ve always had + all the streaming stuff in the same place.

    so much for them! Prestigious

i do apple music and have never considered going back. tying my dls with the icloud was kind of annoying but now that its set up i have no problem. i do like that spotify has those end of the year charts and that their playlists are easier to share, but that interface is yuck.

on the topic of ipods. my 250 gbs one had the battery die so it just sat there collecting dust, but one of my friends said he knew how to fix it and i gave it to him so he could do it but i have had no update on it. it would be cool to see whats in it though, like many of you i also obssesed over completionism, and would torrent entire discographies lol

I’ve made a bunch of playlists, including a few that I continuously add to that are purposely meant for shuffling. Shuffling on an iPod always bugged me because literally anything could come up haha. And the few things that Spotify doesn’t have, I just leave on my phone. But tbh that really only consists of a few b-sides, some old local bands, and the first The Graduate record

  11. When my iPod Classic died, my dad bought me a music player that supports M4A, FLAC, WAV, etc etc. There’s was music on that iPod that I’ll probably never find again, but I still have a pretty expansive music library, which is very important to me. I use my music player whenever I’m on public transport or at work and actually enjoy using shuffle since I love pretty much every song on there. Echoing the folks here who also use Spotify or Bandcamp for listening to new releases and end up buying them if I fall in love.

Here and Nowhere Else is the best Cloud Nothings album and Life Without Sound is better than Attack on Memory

I don't find AC/DC to be very good with Brian Johnson, Bon Scott for the win.

They have 4-5 decent songs to listen to while running and that’s about it for me

Back in Black is a great album front to back, Highway To Hell is pretty solid, but most stuff before and after those is pretty hit and miss

I used to think this before I did a discography run through and I very much disagree now. Appetite for Destruction is crazy great and Use Your Illusion I is better than it gets credit for

Bon Scott had those scratchy and gritty vocals and it fit the band perfectly.
