I always feel bad for Kirk, I feel like he really never gets to do what he actually wants. I know he lost his phone that had a ton of riffs on the last album, so they just said fuck it and used all of Hetfield's instead

Don't get me started on how good Sodom are. Kreator too, for that matter.

Teutonic thrash beats American thrash any day tbh.

Slayer was one of the top 3 worst bands I've ever seen live

he USED to be soo fucking good, the first run of albums are great in terms of drums and somehow as he got older he got worse

To be fair, I think this is statistically a popular opinion! The numbers of people who listen to metal percentagewise are, like, tiny compared to other genres, lol.

I saw Metallica on the Death Magnetic tour and I genuinely thought Lars was going to pass out because he could barely keep up

I mean, “metal” is kinda broad, but when it comes to this particular type of metal, it does nothing for me

Yep. I love a lot of modern metal, and I understand that it probably wouldn’t exist without this stuff. But I can’t help the fact that it makes me bored.

I’ve listened to early Megadeath, but I certainly haven’t made it through an album in full. I just haven’t felt the desire to delve into it head on after the bits I’ve heard. The thing is, there is definitely older music that I wasn’t too hot on when I was younger and I recently revisited and found a lot of enjoyment in it, but I just can’t bring myself to listen to thrash lol

if i had my way, power trip and code orange's trajectories would be switched right now. power trip would be the one getting nominated for grammies and getting into twitter spats with one of the guitarists from of mice & men.

  23. Metallica has more objectively awful and near-universally despised records than any other genre-defining artist I can think of.

We listened to Ride The Lightning on our last tour and even then it was fascinating to me what he decided to play over the parts.
