I don't like Floyd, either, but I was too afraid to post it, myself. Lol. I think they're good musicians or whatever, and have influenced a lot of my favorites, so cred where it is due, but I don't enjoy their music at all.

"Money" is also one of my least favorite songs ever. I swear, it was played three times between each commercial break on the classic rock station back home.

I have heard that the Barret eras were better for those who don't like their most popular albums, so I've been meaning to look into those.

I don't consider many things perfect, but I think "Wish You Were Here" is, definitely one of my favorite songs ever.

I really don't know that much Pink Floyd. I don't like "Money" but at this point I'm not sure if it's just not for me or off just heard it a billion times too many.

  7. Pink Floyd is one of the only big classic rock bands I can get into

I like Rush and some Zeppelin but that's about it, at least of what I've given a shot

  8. Is it really a hot take if he's had at least like 16 years to form an opinion on any of the bands he's referencing?

It's a hot take in that he made a strong dismissive statement without any elaboration.

  11. Oh. I was under impression a hot take was a more or less an immediate opinion based on zero comprehensive thought, regardless of the amount of elaboration. I can kinda see where you're coming from too

I mean, that's cool. What's not cool is to make a statement like "x bands all suck"

  15. Haha I feel ya. In looking it up it kinda seems like the term is used somewhat loosely so it can probably fit multiple contexts. We're both right! Ice cream and trophies for the whole team!

I dunno, I feel like if someone says something like that there's a certain amount of humor implied. Like it shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Unless they're persistently trashing something, then fuck em

    Ooo, I got one.

    - Deathcore as a genre is just as good as death metal, both new and old. Especially since many seem to forget that there is a lot of subpar death metal out there.

At the very least, it's probably not the total disaster of a subgenre that trve metalheads often make it out as being.

  19. I, for one, have certainly not forgotten that a lot of death metal is indeed subpar

    - Vega is more enjoyable than Neon Indian

    - Streaming is bad for music overall since the sound quality usually isn't as good as CD or high-quality digital, most services do and/or will require subscriptions that make you feel like you're renting music instead of actually having it, and you are often out of luck if you aren't located in a spot with a great wifi connection to prevent any pauses and stuttering. All of that makes the convenience not worth it IMHO.

    - Metroid Metal (the band that plays metal versions of music from the Metroid games) is somehow more enjoyable than the actual music from the games.

Yeah I do not care for streaming services. It would be easier if some services didn't have their own exclusives. I like the possession aspect, being able to support new releases, and having all my music all in one place

I love using Spotify and I really enjoy being able to access a lot of music I wouldn't regularly be able to access, say, if I'm in the mood for a hip hop playlist or to check out a new artist real quick when someone mentions them to me.

I'm getting extremely frustrated with the competition between the 3 major music streaming services. I just want to hear the 1975's new album, I shouldn't have to wait an extra week after it was released to hear it. I might as well just download the leak, ya know?

Oh I mean I totally agree with you regarding the benefits. For finding new artists and listening to new albums before dropping $10+ on a physical copy, it's a fantastic service. That being said the competition is beyond annoying.

Then download the leak. These exclusives won't work as well if people don't sign up for the streaming services just to hear them, and that removes the incentive to have exclusives in the first place.
