I agree that The Hold Steady are terrible.

 

The Hold Steady released at least three near perfect records, what a load of crap

 

I think the joke is that all of them were bizarre statements

I think J. Cole gets an unfair rep. He's not the best by any means, but there are many worse out there imo.

 

he's overhyped imo, his music is really boring to me

 

He was overhyped once upon a time but it certainly feels like he's client's on more often than not.

He's had his moments but is a good example of "has the tools, lacks the toolbox"

 

I'm surprised to hear of him being overhyped. At my college, he was considered along the likes of Hopsin or something.

I occasionally feel like I've heard all the music that will blow me away already. And then some random-ass Top 30 hit from '77 will knock me on my ass and I get excited again.

Craig Finn is great. Dudes got a great way with words.
