It was revealed that one of our teachers was a child molester after I graduated

 

Our health teacher in 6th grade was arrested/fired after being accused of rape. He was also the girls soccer coach and one girl in particular would go to his house for "special lessons" after school some days. She was obviously the one that accused him. I didn't know the girl as she was a year older than me but most of her classmates believed she might have been fabricating the story

The guy still lives in the same house he did when I was growing up. Weird.

I had a history teacher from the same school that ended up getting a job in a different district as principal however many years after we graduated. He embezzled money. He was a pretty cool teacher

This also happened at my school, they were the " cool sub" everyone loved who played guitar

 

When my Dad was in school (same High School I went to) there was this creepy kid that never really socialized with anyone at school. A couple years after he graduated they found out this dude killed his grandma and kept her body in the closet for months so he could cash her SS checks..

 

Man my city was strangely dramatic now that I think about it, hahahaha.

Right after my senior year both the principal and assistant principals were fired because they were giving unfair treatment to football players. We had a state championship caliber team at the time and these dudes went as far to alter report cards and not punish multiple people for distributing drugs at school.

 

Student athletes getting special privileges probably happens everywhere though.

I got in trouble a lot for skipping class sophomore year of high school but I only ever went to the library to chill and read, I was just super depressed that year and hated being in class. Also got Saturday detention once for stealing a shopping cart from the supermarket down the street and giving my friends rides with it in the hallway before track practice. Ended up straightening my shit out a lot in junior year and never had any trouble after that

When we were in 10th grade one of the seniors picked up chlamydia from a girl in another district. He then slept with one of the "popular" blonde girls in our grade. It spread WILDLY and rapidly from there. It was a national story there for a bit IIRC.

In the biggest boys bathroom somebody constructed a "The Wire" type web of people who had gotten it. Completel with pictures and names.. It was both hilarious and sad.

When I was a junior in HS one of the sophomores somehow got an admin login for the school website and changed all of the text in a "school dance proper conduct" announcement post to the lyrics of Ignition Remix. He got suspended but even the teachers I had that day were laughing about it

I skiped class in high school once - at least before senior year. Don't think I actually skipped anything senior year that wasn't like "allowed"

 

I got a shitload of detentions because I couldn't be bothered with disagreed with the concept of homework.

 

One time I got in trouble in art because my friend and I were playing catch with a paper mache balloon that was still wet and while the teacher was trying to tell us to stop my throw hit her clean in the face

I got suspended for threatening the life of a teacher.

He was a shitty teacher.

 

We had like 4 or 5 different bomb/violence threats during my high school duration. So that was pretty crazy.

Some time after I left high school it came out that there was some sort of inappropriate conduct going on with one of the security guards and a student. Idk all of the details but I'm pretty certain nothing physical happened... still scary though. He was always known as the "cool" security guard that you could always joke around with and stuff.

The year before I started high school a few seniors filled water balloons with watered down bleach and threw them at people as their "senior prank". Thankfully no one was hurt.

Same! During the third year, the school literally just said "no" and didn't let us out. I thought it was ridiculous but it worked, there wasn't one next year.

 

Oh and my favorite teacher in high school got fired two years after I graduated because other members of faculty didn't agree with his "methods". Basically, at the start of every class he'd make us write in our journals for 5 minutes or so -- anything we wanted, as long as we were writing. During this period he'd play music softly, stuff like Cartel, MxPx, mostly pop/rock kinda stuff like that. A lot of teachers hated that. Also, we'd watch The Simpsons a lot on days towards the end of quarters when we'd have nothing really to do because all finals were done.

Anyway him getting fired fucked me up because no other teacher had gotten me truly engaged with learning like he did, he skipped the textbook bullshit and wanted to open our minds in a different way and would go above and beyond for us to make it happen. He didn't believe in the "one curriculum fits all" method and it helped everyone excel. Sucks to see punishment for originality.
