I'm late but I think the reasob a lot of CRJ songs appeal a certain crowd more than other Pop songs is because they sound like Pop Punk songs without guitars

i'm new to Conor Oberst and thought Ruminations was very musically pleasing but his voice just killed it for me

 

I think Conor Oberst/Bright Eyes is the most overrated artist on Saddle Creek and from this little music world in general. I like him enough but I dont think I like a full album by him.

Cursive and Rilo Kiley shouldve got all of his buzz imo

 

fevers, im wide awake, digital ash, payola, and ruminations are all good to great records. could take or leave the rest of his discog. ruminations is his best in a very long time

 

Going to give Full Collapse another shot sometime soon. Hopefully it clicks for me.

 

The only album Conor's ever done that I really love is the first Desaparecidos album.

Are You That Somebody's video being Doctor Doolittle oriented is great, too

 

I've never listened to a full Conor Oberst album and nothing I've heard has ever convinced me to go further, although "First Day of my Life" is great

 

I need to hear the cha cha slide at every wedding or their marriage is prob doomed.
