The Pogues' Fairytale of New York, for sure. It's such an overplayed song in the UK, and it's revered as basically the only "worthy" Christmas song, but it genuinely is wonderful, and I'm able to listen to it any time of the year.

Dustin Kensrue also did a good cover of it, and rewrote a bit of it too, which is nice.

Only xmas music I really bother with are the Charlie Brown xmas soundtrack and Rat Pack xmas stuff. Mariah too obv

Sufjan, Kacey Musgraves, Mew, The Killers, She and Him, Kelly Clarkson all have good songs too.

Iunno if this is unpopular or more a niche thing but I have a hard time getting into high pitched male vocals esp in metal.
I respect artists; like say a King Diamond's place in the music world but I just really can't do it barring a super special/rare mood lol.

Same. I can listen to Dio all day but King Diamond is over the top for me. I'm not into operatic vox at all

fun fact: despite being anti-corporate, Charlie Brown's Christmas recently has been shortened when aired by ABC to make for more time for commercials

 

the charlie brown "christmas time is here" is so melancholy sounding with the choir harmonies. it made me sad as a kid lol
