it wouldn't be okay for me to drop someone crowd surfing on me that i don't want to but it's okay for a person to jump off stage and hit me in the process, okay thanks mikey paine

I guess - people don't really crowd surf at hardcore shows tho. If it's part of the music it's okay with me.

Why are you being so fucking hostile lmao

That's bullshit. People shouldn't have to avoid getting to see their favourite bands up close because they don't want to have some fat, sweaty asshole land on their head.

I wish I could ask the same thing to the people diving on my head or flailing over top of me, but I guess I'm just supposed to risk injury and let that happen. Fuck me, am I right?

If you weight too much you shouldn't do it. Sure. That's why I don't do it. If ur favorite band is a hardcore band tho ur probably fine with it - it's 110% part of the culture

Simple solution: move to the back a lil bit

That's unfortunate that you have to tell me how I have to choose to enjoy myself

You're welcome to stay towards the front - just gotta run the risk I guess!

Even people that hardly weigh anything can hurt you when they kick you in the head. I just think it's a dumb, inconsiderate thing to do.

The risk shouldn't be present in the first place, but, sure, continue to be obtuse about it

I've done it once and it was not a particually pleasent experience! I like moving, I like the all the adrenaline - like to me that's the fun of like - a hardcore show. Sure they can barely play their instruments and it's hot af but like to me its part of the point.

Why can't the front of the stage be the designated stage diving area? Like I get not being into it but I can't understand what being ten feet away from the stage means

It means whether I have to worry about being critically injured or not when that shouldn't be something I have to worry about in the first place

If its a hardcore/metalcore show youre gonna get hit in some way probably. All other shows it should absolutely not happen. Crowd surfing is dumb. Thats 28 year old me talking though. 16 year old me would have a different opinion on crowd surfing.

Venues ban it for a reason. Stupid fucks do it anyway. If you're at an abandoned warehouse or some shit you're already in danger so stage diving is the least of your worries

I enjoy shows from further back in the venue personally. Being upclose means being squashed with sweaty people you don't know regardless. Fuck that.

Purchasing a concert ticket doesn't entitle you to the front of the venue but it's also not a consent form for people jumping on you and putting you in harms way. A person going to their first ever show probably doesn't know some dumb asshole is about to jump on their neck without warning. There are about a million different reasons that people shouldn't stage dive.

Seeing Brand New on the rail was amazing. Having to spend every pre-TDAG song making sure my girlfriend doesn't get kicked in the face so some asshole can have 30 seconds of enjoyment isn't amazing, however

idk - it's mostly assholes who do it but idk like....I know most of y'all aren't going to shows where it's appriproate anyway - it dont matta. I enjoy the adrealine of just being adjacent to it but obviously understand why someone wouldn't

    hmmm

In most instances, stage diving and crowd-surfing is for knuckleheads.

Walls of death are fucking cool though.
