Ho Hey is a good song.

 

That whole mainstream folk genre gets beat up too much IMO. It feels like the go to "my music taste is better than yours" genre

 

i always liked this song, just found it really catchy / sing a long. heh

 

I think the annoying thing is it's all marketing in a genre that's known for its tradition and authenticity and localized lyrical themes

 

While I'm not a super or anything, i dig a few Audioslave songs alot..

probably super unpopular lol

unpopular opinion:

most of what is good about pop-punk is in Rufio's discography. There are bands that have strong emotional appeal and who branched off into other genres that I adore, but as far as bands just staying within that stylistic box of being a fun summery jam to skateboard with... I really think that they were pretty early to the early 00s fast power chords music trend, and the sound got mastered by them long before it even got popular (and they're never a band people reference when retroactively talking about the scene.)

their first two albums Perhaps I Suppose and MCMLXXXV both predated Fall Out Boy's Take This To Your Grave and were both better versions of the same exact kind of music imo.

 

Evil Empire is definitely their best.
