contributing could mean anything, because thats what happened with death cab and chris walla and there was a noticable absence of his production input on kintsugi. which is why im worried about rostam having a lesser role.

 

shit happens. When Chris Walla started to lose interest in Death Cab it was OBVIOUS in their music

 

im definitely concerned about it, especially with the other two having solo things coming out, but i think they'll be fine. ezra is a solid enough songwriter in his own right.

if they work with ariel reichstad again i think it'll be fine too. but there hasnt been much talk about the next record lately which is also a bit concerning

he's just so raw and real about the anxiety he has as an upper-40s musician who feels like he's losing his edge and like his job is getting harder physically for him.

 

This isn't unpopular so much as forgotten but Counting Crows are still really good.

 

i went back and forth on benji for a few months but its become one of my favorite records. and it was my introduction to him so exploring the rest of his discog was really rewarding too. i had the same kind of hate it at first but came around to love it situation with universal themes. and the jesu record is just great all around. so yeah, im a fan of the koz haha.

 

Sometimes the most fiercely bitter people are that way because they are fiercely sentimental and don't know how else to channel themselves through a life of disappointment. You really learn a lot about what goes on inside the mind of that ornery guy on the street who gives you a hard time when you bump into him, or that auto mechanic of few words who takes no bullshit, from his music. A lot of people are quick to criticize his music because he's a drunk asshole often in public but I think it makes his music beautiful that there's so much heart behind the thick skin.

 

I feel like they're not cool to like but I love them, same with the Red Hot Chili Peppers

 

counting crows are good, red hot chili peppers are one of the worst bands to ever exist.

 

Gotta say I really dislike Red Hot Chili Peppers.

 

Incubus is a band that doesn't get much chorus.fm/AP love that I've always been into

it's too bad they became a lot less about instrumentation and a lot more about Brandon Boyd singing 26 notes in one measure

 

Someone told me the peppers have great lyrics and I was like really a lot of this stuff reads poorly

It just grates on me is all. I could say the same for Justin Vernon (which I do), Max Bemis, King Diamond, etc

It's just not my preference

 

Incubus definitely has some great songs. The opening of "Drive" instantly reminds me of adolescent summers

Morning View and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. are two very well put together albums with great flow. Also think A Crow Left Of The Murder has plenty of great moments.
