All opinions are not equal. For example, mine are God like and yours are bullshit.

I have a feeling without seeing your posts that we feel eye-to-eye on some things but I don't know how you think this is the place to discuss these things.

What concerns do you have that you feel a Trump presidency would address?

America: where we'll thought out, reasonable pieces written by intelligent, thoughtful people are met with the sort of discussion we see here. Hooray.

Honestly, people say voting third party is wasting your vote, but this is the one election where that risk especially isn't worth taking. Any vote for a third party increases Trump's chances. :/

there are people who feel like Hillary represents everything they despise in politics, I'm not one of those people although obviously there are things she's said or done I disagree with same with any other politician

I guess if you prefer meaningless, antagonizing comments meant to drive further division rather than thoughtful discussion between opposing views that could possibly bring a further understanding of a different perspective...sure.

Smart people who dismiss the concerns of people they don't understand is how people like Trump become powerful. Don't be one of those people, be better.

counterpoint: people like Trump become powerful because the U.S. is a really racist country.

I guess I think people are more complicated than that. Agree to disagree.

Read an interesting comment about how it's hard for people to make informed decisions when they are constantly lied to by news outlets and politicians that make promises. So instead they grab on to emotional responses to their current position. Which is why fear, hate, anger make their way into the voting process.

Absolutely this. Trying to explain a complicated phenomenon as "they're all racist" is reductionist and unhelpful.

But not if they are all in fact racist

It also pushes people away, into the arms of people like Trump. Trump appeals to people's emotions instead of their humanity. You can win people over by recognizing that they are, in fact, human beings with their own experiences and history instead of racist cartoon characters.

I didn't say it was that simple. I just think the liberal perspective that acts as though trump supporters are all poor disillusioned souls is dismissing legit societal problems. The problem is not as simple as you made it out to be when you dismissed legitimate frustration.

Was your post sarcastic? Maybe I misunderstood but sounded like you explained Trump's rise to prominence can be attributed to racists and that alone.
