Haha its rad delving into an artist for the first time who has had a long standing impact for many years with a colourful discography. Sometimes I wish I could rehire my favourite artists again for the first time with fresh ears!

Let Go and Under My Skin are pinnacle starts into her discography so I recommend starting there. They have classic 00's sound but I still think they hold up well (I'm biased as Let Go is one of my favourite albums!).

I will be legitimately impressed if you managed to make it through the last 20 years without hearing either "Complicated" or "Sk8er Boi."

    I youtubed the songs...

Complicated - Oh! Thats <that> song. I've heard snippets, I admit it. Wouldnt have known she sang that (Even have listened to the lastest new songs) - But if you asked me 'Do you know that 'complicated' song? Nope. I wouldnt have known or thought about it.

Sk8r Boi - OK. I know that one too.... I thought that was like Big Time Rush, or something :/ (Yeah, I know all the people in the band are boys... or someone else)

I guess, I do know of her. I just didn't KNOW it was her. I stand corrected, I guess. Shes almost 40?? Yikes.

I assume the yikes is due to some of the immature lyrics on the new album?

    youtubed that one too.

OK. I guess I knew that song - but again, had no idea who sang it. Maybe I didnt know the songs because my girls were not into it (and I wasn't either, I guess)

Depending on the year - I could have been listening to a host of things.

Thanks all for setting me straight - lol/.

I’ve never gone out of my way to listen to Avril and I know 7 of her songs. You definitely know them haha

Very understandable! I just couldn't let a convo of her hits go by without mentioning Girlfriend lol

  10. This kinda reminds me of that one time on Chorus when I said that I had never heard a single Slipknot song before. And when people gave me specific songs that I *must* have heard, none of them sounded even remotely familiar. Haha

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a full slip knot song.

Such a big song (and video) for me.

Still sometimes ask people why they had to go and make things so complicated, lol.

Sooooo bummed her big summer tour for this album is support for MGK. Not super surprising if course but not what I wanted.

I'd say my intrigue of going to when we were going festival has gone up a bit

  18. she'll have bigger crowds this way. way more exposure than her headlining, i bet. but yeah, it's a bummer that this is the world we live in.

I imagine it also allows her to possibly play more of the new album to better reception.

I know I know. I was actually thinking she might do high tier GA venues as a headliner.

This is obviously a Travis Barker showcase. Which makes sense.

It's fine. I got to see Avril Lavigne and Patent Pending 7 years ago. So my avril quota is fulfilled. I was really really hoping she would do riot..but it seems lolla more likely

Yeah an Avril tour would kill in Mid-Large venues like The Anthem in DC, Aragon in Chicago, Minneapolis Armory, etc.

I would love to know what Avril is really like. I've always been a fan because she's played the role amazingly for 20 years (don't give a fuck, effortless talent, ""pop punk princess""). I want to know if that's what shes really like.

  25. Well she was married to the Nickelback singer for a minute so who even knows?!
