Movies need intermissions again. Sorry, but I drink a lot of soda when I'm at the movie theater and I don't want to have to get up and miss something because the directors couldn't keep the movie under 3 hours.

I work at a theater and if they have an intermission I’ll be pissed because we’ll already be rushed constantly but then we’ll also get rushes during intermission haha

I mean, I understand and sympathize, but this is why I don't like the current movie theater set up. It's also why I'm thankful for on-demand and Netflix. I don't have to worry about anything like that at home. I can just pause it haha.

I mean to be fair, you don't have to worry about it at the theatre either if you just planned better. Most of what they are referring to is people showing at 6:05 for a 6:10 movie and then being pissed that they have to wait 10 minutes for concessions.

Okay, I'm going to say this: even when I don't drink a lot of soda, I have bladder issues. Nothing serious, I just have to go more than most people. But according to you, people like me should just "plan better". Yeah, that makes sense. Not the absurdity of a three hour long film without any breaks. Sure.

Let's look at it statistically: the average person should go to bathroom 4-7 times at least within 24 hours. So that's once every 3.4 hours. Considering a lot of people are asleep for 6-8 hours, that's actually every 2.5 hours. So anyone above the seven times a day is going quite often.

I read something a few weeks ago that said they don’t plan on putting a intermission in endgame cuz it would ruin the flow of the movie or something idr exactly what they said. It also said when they’ve shown the full movie off to their people and what not no one got up to go to the bathroom

I mean, those are two stupid answers, but I'm glad they at least addressed it.

"Our people didn't go so that's an accurate representation of the millions of people who will see this movie"

Why not drink less soda if you know behorehand that the movie will be three hours?

First off, chill. I didn't mean YOU specifically. You just said you sympathize with people who would want to rush the workers in order to get back into the movie in time and I was just saying that when he refers to the employees being "rushed" it is mostly by people who don't plan better. 90% of the customers who complain about something at theatre are to blame because they are the ones that did something, not the people working there.

Also for what it is worth, I hear about the bladder problems. I can't hold it very long either, which oddly enough @justin. , is why I stopped drinking anything before I go see a movie and during it. Haha

I'll repeat what I've said previously here: There's no chance these movies ever have an intermission, but having one would be awesome. The pros (bathroom break, stretch legs, chance to reflect on a big moment right before intermission, chance to talk amongst friends) easily outweigh whatever couple very minor inconveniences. Loved having one during the 2001: A Space Odyssey showing I went to last year.

I won’t take a sip until halfway through a movie. Generally that means an hour left and I’ll be good. For this I’ll have to wait until hour 2.

I just eat/drink after the movie. I would like my trip to the cinema to only be $16 instead of $30.

I wouldn't mind an intermission just because (from past experiences) listening to people talk about what has already happened and what may happen during the next half of the film is pretty neat. It's more of an experience. On that note, I highly doubt Marvel will put an intermission in Endgame as it will cause fewer showings to fit into the day.

I'd rather see the 90 minute Thanos cut
I just hate the idea that longer is better for blockbusters, there's something very nice when a movie is a lean 90 minutes and gets the job done

    Assume It's A Bit

I think that's the case for a fair number of movies (really most other MCU movies should probably sit around 90-100 minutes), but Infinity War and Endgame definitely feel like they need to be closer to 3 hours. There's just so much they need to do that it'd feel to rushed in only 90 minutes.
