  1. For some reason, I remember seeing Neighbors twice lol. I saw Nope twice this year because it was fun to see again with friends who didn't know what to expect.

truly a saint lol my wife is just not a movie person, which makes it tough. seeing this alone tomorrow will be a nice opportunity to some time away from work.

    So excited for this tomorrow.

Mainly because I'm tired of seeing articles about how it's the sequel no one asked for, and the most forgettable big budget success ever etc. I don't at all get where that opinion has come from. There's a section at Disney world dedicated to it, it's the box office all time king, I don't know anyone who hasn't seen it and most people I know, have probably seen it multiple times and agree there's plenty of room in the universe for more. Sure, there's a lot of opinions on it being derivative, but people are acting like we're all collectively scratching our heads and digging deep to even remember what the first movie was.

I don't know what the term is, but it seems like one of those opinions that the internet formed and is now it's taken as fact because it's repeated so often and loudly without there being much truth to it.

I'll eat crow if wrong, but i don't think this will underwhelm, either me personally, or the money counters in Hollywood.

I really don’t think this is going to end up the new highest grossing film of all time.

I wouldn’t bet on it outgrossing Endgame or Avatar 1, buuuuut I also don’t think it’s outside of the realm of possibility.

this is good overall. has a lot of the strengths and weaknesses of the first but ultimately this might be more affecting/resonant. drags at the midway point but the last hour or so makes up for that in spades

early predictions are this making half a bill the opening weekend. it might not be the biggest ever but it will be the biggest of the year and almost certainly top 3 ever.

Yeah it will definitely be the biggest worldwide release of 2022, but idk if it will beat Top Gun’s domestic box office

It's aged really well, and I think the subversive elements stand out way more now if you're looking for them. In Michael Bay-ass 2009, the message may have bounced off people, or was only examined using cinematic tropes we were familiar with (Fern Gully, all visuals + no substance etc), even if it affected us under the surface (causing mass depression etc).

I think Big Jim Cam saw what was happening and came back to beat these movies into everyone once and for all

I think I saw "Titanic" 5 times in the theater. I remember the last time was solely to see the "Godzilla" teaser.

I saw "Top Gun: Maverick" three times this year, probably the most I've seen a movie since "Spider-Verse." The two subsequent times was in 4XD or whatever is where the seats move. It ruled.

I didn’t care much for the first Avatar, outside of the 3-D. This fucking ruled. What a ride.
