After my recent Apple Music Replay debacle where my top artist, album, and song were all "Fan Sounds" for 2024 (was fixed before end of December), I decided to finally jump in and fix it this year. I bought Marvis Pro with the Last.fm integration and currently on the Neptunes trial on MacOS, which I'll do the full purchase for beginning of next month. I have to say I love seeing my scrobbles updating in real time. My only gripe is all of the workarounds Marvis has to do in order to be your main music player. It'd be great if Apple decided to get on board with opening up the iOS API's more, but we all know how that goes.

I also purchased a subscription to Calm to use for my sleep sounds moving forward so it doesn't mess with my Replay again. I got to use a work wellness benefit for that, so technically free for me.

Excited to compare my music stats with Last.fm compared to Replay at the end of the year.

 

This updated mail app with categories is making me realize how many bullshit spam emails I get every day.

 

I was in a similar boat in October and after going down a few rabbit holes, I ended up buying the 32" BenQ 4k monitor that is meant for Macs. It was a really amazing monitor. I always used the cheaper 27" monitors I could find on sale on amazon and finally decided to pull the trigger on it. Loved it.

Speaking in the past tense because I very stupidly pushed the button to lower my standing desk and left my office to grab a drink and didn't realize my desk chair was too far under the desk thus flipping my desk backwards and my less than 3 month old monitor went crashing down and cracked the corner which you can imagine how fucked up that made the screen when I turned it back on.

Waiting to hear back from BenQ on a warranty request that I know they won't cover but trying for the sake of it. Then will have them quote how much to fix, but preparing myself for the inevitable answer of "....there's not much we can do" and then having to figure out what to do next.

Long story short - the monitor is really great and exceptionally well built....but not well built enough to survive a fall. lol

 

I turned those off immediately
