BUT WAIT, Verizon will let me upgrade for free if I turn in my 6? Can anyone explain this to me?

 

I believe FedEx has a program if you sign up for their service where you can customize delivery options. UPS has My Choice, pretty sure FedEx has something similar.

 

I believe it's for a 7 32gb that's free. The Plus and more storage will cost you

 

That is wild, I thought they did away with the whole "free with a two year contract" thing. I guess they just found a new way of doing the same thing. Well then, I guess I have no reason not to upgrade now?

 

I always set my iPhone deliveries to be held at the local UPS Customer Center. This prevents the box from being left alone in my building's lobby and potentially stolen. The great thing is the store opens at 9 AM, so I always pick up the phone on launch day first thing in the morning without any line.

 

They couldn't change my address.

So I'm screwed over to pay for shipping from North Carolina to Florida.

Will probably be locked away once it ships. Apparently I can't change the shipping address because of a rule set by Citizen One (the bank that finances the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program).

I'm assuming those same restrictions will still apply to the order in transit.

 

Maybe Apple can only create a shipping label for your MIL's address since she's the account holder. Once it's in FedEx's hands, I can't imagine they wouldn't be able to reroute or hold for you if you contacted them. It's at least worth a shot. I know from the Brand New thread how impatient you are ;p

Do you have applecare on it? You could take it in to Apple and pay the new $30 screen replacement cost and then take it back in for the trade in.

 

Unfortunately, I don't. do you know the price breakdown of getting the 7 with 128gb with this deal?

 

Ok i have the iOS 10 GM on my iPhone 6 now and i still can't do some of the new messaging stuff. I can get the messaging apps and the force touch things but i can't do the bubble things. You just hold down the send arrow, right?

 

When I use the deal page on Verizon and switch it to a 128gb 7 it just increases the monthly installation payments from $27.08 to $31.24, 256gb is 35.41. For all three options for the 7, the Due Today amount is always $0. I could be doing something wrong though because I'm not getting a page to input which device I'm trading in.

 

Sorry to interrupt the Iphone excitement but wanted to know if anyone else with a Retina Macbook Pro had this issue.

If I have a page up in Safari and my computer locks from inactivity, when I unlock my computer that website is always unresponsive. I can load up any other website I want but the one that was up before my computer locked will not load unless I restart Safari. Particularly annoying when I'm playing video games and browsing forums in between load times and whatnot. I could always increase the auto lock time but I kind of like that feature. It's only a small annoyance but wondering if a solution is out there or if anyone else has the issue.

On a somewhat related note, is Chrome still a battery killer? I don't have this issue in any other browsers so I guess I could just use another, but I prefer Safari.

had to pre-order through verizon so I won't get it till the 23rd but that's okay - complaining about ship time is the biggest first world problem ever

 

Went for the 128GB in "normal" black, too worried about scratches / fingerprints on the jet black. I don't really need it, but the trade-in value for the 6 is right on.

 

Verizon isn't shipping the plus until mid-October. Any chance stores would have it sooner or should I just go through the site?

 

Ordered the 128gb Plus, and realized I had the same problem where it's shipping to my mom in Florida since I've been paying her to stay on the family plan. Sucks to know they won't change it and that I'll have to have her ship it to LA.

 

If you're talking about these little guys you just need to hold your finger down on the message you want to "react" to.

If you're talking about the full-screen effects you force touch the send arrow, I would assume a long press would work for a non 6s device but I'm not sure
