Anyone have issues with apply pay transactions not appearing. I tried restarting my phone and still nothing. I tried support and all they said was an apply card specialist from Goldman Sachs can help and sent a link for me to connect which I don’t want to do

My carrier (Visible) now supports RCS...if only I ever texted anyone through SMS.

 

I bought an Apple Watch on Prime Day and enjoying it so far. I've never worn a smart watch and honestly haven't worn a watch in years. Are there any tips/tricks/general things to know with this thing?

honestly - no? I’ve largely disabled notifications, really only use it for workouts and as a watch.

 

Learn about different faces and spend time customizing them and knowing how to switch between them. Having different faces for different focus modes is awesome. Work mode vs end of day mode has been the most recent “tip/trick” I preach.

 

I'm with you. I've used Overcast since 2015 and have been along for the ride with every update except for this one. Feels very sluggish, some of the things I do most frequently have been updated to now take several touches when the previously have only been one, have had numerous times when I take my AirPods out at work and the podcast keeps playing over my phone speakers (which, admittedly is probably just a coincidence), and have just had a lot of bugs (I'll 100% give Marco grace here though since I know he's chipping away still at some of these).

I do like how it looks though. Visually one of my favorite looking updates.

I have faith in Marco and am obviously pretty invested in Overcast as a whole, coming up on using it for 10 years. Just kind of bummed this is the first update I haven't gelled with after a few days.

I'm a bit of a freak, and have everything on my phone delivered quietly and have all sound and even the vibration turned off, so the only way I get notified of anything is through my watch. Additionally, I only have calls and texts alert me on my watch, so I know if my watch bumps, it's a text or call. So I know most people probably don't want that same level of quiet, but I guess what I'm trying to say is, it can be helpful to limit the watch notifications to things that are more important to you. I also use it for fitness and workouts as well.

 

I do similar but still allow things to get to my phone. I check and clear them somewhat regularly. But the things to my watch are the most important ones (messages, calls, Discord chats I care about, Teams, Slack, Calendar).

 

I too have had the podcast keep playing after I take my airpods out. Also the podcasts aren't always clearing from my Current section after I'm done playing any that are downloaded, which is pretty frustrating. For example, I just finished the newest ATP about an hour ago and it's still yet to clear from my Current section, and I have it selected to delete after completed.

Overall though I really enjoy how the update looks even though some things are harder to get to like you mentioned.

 

Finally got the overcast update… and I hate because now I can’t even get in. It just always says Syncing and never completes

 

Starting a new job on Monday and decided to reward myself with an M3 MacBook Air since my 2020 intel Pro is starting to show its age. Goddamn this thing is slick, I think this is really my ideal laptop

 

Anybody have any recommendations for good portable chargers/power banks? I have an anker one but it was not very expensive so it’s not the greatest. I’m going to be going to NY for a week in September with a two-day music festival in the middle and I’d like to get a better one for the trip that’ll be able to last me all day.

Anker make a lot of different power banks at different price points. I always buy from them because their customer service is top notch. Any time I’ve ever had an issue with one of their products they replace it no questions asked

 

So I’m on 18.1. Nothing all that mindblowing so far.

I don’t know what’s up with my AW Ultra 1 but the battery will not last through the day anymore. This just started a couple weeks ago

 

My Series 7 has been going through similar and I just had it replaced under warranty in October.

 

I’m selling my ultra 2 for like $500 if anyone is interested

 

lol I'm giving one a run right now. I can't say I like it more than my S7 enough to keep it.
