I go through that thought process once a month. Still haven't pulled the trigger because I got the new Anker Q45 Soundcore headphones on a cyber monday deal for $70 and it's just so hard to justify spending almost 7 times more on Air Pods Max - no matter how much I want them.

Has anyone ever had both to compare? Are the AirPods Max exponentially better than the Q45?

 

I can’t comment on the Ankers but these sound incredible. Exponentially better than my mid-to-low-end Bose over ears. I don’t really have another particularly high end over ear set to compare them to tho

 

the volume up down buttons should be able to switch to toggle brightness. I raise and lower my brightness far more than i adjust the volume with those buttons. am i making sense?

Speaking of buttons, anybody ever have the power button sink in on an iPad and not come back up? Just happened on its own at some point, no falls or drops. Still works but takes a bit more effort to push.

Apologies if I've posted this on the site before. Am I crazy or does this Dolby Atmos version of What's My Age Again sound like absolute trash to anyone else using Apple Music? Some songs on Untitled like Violence sound cool but this almost sounds like demo quality.

 

It was one of the first songs to adopt Dolby Atmos and I remember it getting panned a lot when it was released as well.

Huge fan of the Untitled album version as well expect I'm Lost Without You which sounds really spacey but hallow at the same time.

Getting into baseball this season has really gotten me to love the live activities feature through the MLB app. I don’t get to watch every game so being able to easily keep track of Rays scores has been nice.

 

I was listening to one of my favourite travel podcasts and they both unanimously agreed that ‘flighty’ was an incredible flight tracking app.

I have holidays coming up so thought I’ll check it out and being the geek that I am. I was fully expecting to spend $15/20 on an app I will use for maybe one or two trips this year. In my head thinking this is already expensive at that price point. Downloaded it, and it’s $50 a year. I want it, but can’t really justify $12 bucks a flight pretty much. I’m guessing it’s aimed at regular/business travellers.

 

Idk how accurate the noise readings are on the watch ultra buuuuut it thinks my daughter hit 103db while I was changing her today lmao

I'm always curious how Apple decides what is worthy of time at a keynote and what deserves a simple press release. You would think after so many years of people asking where Final Cut Pro and Logic were at - especially with the insane increase in power when the M1 chips were released - it would warrant some screen time at a keynote and not just sent out as a press release.

However I'm wondering if they initially planned to have it be part of WWDC, but it got the boot because so much of the keynote is going to be dedicated to the Apple VR/AR headset?

 

I would assume the line of demarcation is "is this for a pro audience or general public."

They usually don't devote too much time to the pro market at these events otherwise.

 

I dunno, I've definitely sat through some VERY in-depth explanations of MacBook Pro-exclusive chips during past Keynotes.

I think, like @Frank Lapidus, it's a situation where the headset is going to need a LOT of time.
