Lots of speculation that the Series 7 Watch we're getting is a contingency plan. There were quite a few rumours that they had issues with the new screen which resulted in issues on the production line.

No one at the event was wearing one.

Comment: Does Apple even know when the Apple Watch Series 7 will actually ship?

 

Installed the 15 beta last night on my phone. New Safari is weird and going to take some getting used to. I think I like it more though

 

my experience is pretty well stocked, but if you want the super popular new color you might wait a week or two longer. i remember when i ordered the jet black 7+ it took like a month to get back in stock.

 

Gotcha, mostly wondering since I probly won’t be able to order right when preorders for up so wasn’t sure how long I’d have to wait if I didn’t get one of the initial batch. I do love that blue tho

 

So does anyone know how this works? I think in years past I've selected upgrade this iPhone, but I noticed it's 54.08 per month. But picking buy a new iPhone is only 45. If I'm on the apple upgrade program do I have to pick the upgrade this iPhone option? This is in the Apple Store app by the way.

 

New iPhone is without AppleCare so is cheaper monthly.

Upgrade this iPhone continues the IUP and has to include Apple Care, which is why it costs more.

 

Ah okay, thanks. Makes sense. I'll stick with upgrading and having apple care.

 

That’s what I’m doing as well although I was tempted to go the other way as I’ve never had to use the Apple Care.

I know the second I do, I’ll drop my phone though.

 

Has anyone here planning on trading in a paid off device gone through the the preapproval process for the iPhone Upgrade Program? I just paid off my phone and the website makes it surprisingly unclear how to reenroll/newly enroll while trading in a device (at least, it's unclear at the stage where you're selecting the phone - the normal purchase screen gives the option to list a device for trade in, but the page for the Upgrade Program doesn't).

 

Looking to pre-order the 13 Pro on Friday. Any recommended brands for leather cases with a card holder in them? Something that does not have the front flap.

I'd love to know the answer to this as well! The trade in option is pretty clear on the check out page to purchase the phone, but I can't seem to find it on the upgrade program page. I've never enrolled in the iPhone Upgrade Program and was hoping to do so for this release. I have an 11 Pro that is paid off and would love to use towards a trade in rather than the hassle of trying to sell it on OfferUp or FB Marketplace.

 

Anyone else having issues with Apple Music today, specifically on the iPhone? It's randomly paused itself several times, completely crashed a few times, and most recently I picked a couple albums to Play Next / Play Last and it added both of them twice in a row. Then when I went to remove the first duplicate track from each album it removed all of the duplicate tracks at once.

 

Well shit. I just (finally) joined the iPhone Upgrade Program lol.

 

Most compelling reason for me to upgrade is the mini goes back to a proper red

 

How does the Apple trade in credit work? I’m assuming they just credit whatever your original payment method was yeah?

 

Via mail in? Yeah it credits your payment method

 

If you pay for the new item via credit card/monthly installments then the trade in credit is automatically applied. If you buy it outright then your credit gets refunded to your card once they receive the trade in device.

 

Also, this is a really weird thing that I learned the hard way:

If you use a gift card in conjunction with a credit card and trade in, they will refund the gift card instead of your credit card when they receive the trade in device. They were able to reverse it for me when it happened, but it took several hours and a number of higher ups getting involved.

 

It is too bad about the watch, I am interested in one as the one I have is a super duper old hand-me-down and I haven't worn it since the pandemic began anyway - I would like to look at the new models. on Apple dot com you can't even compare models to the older ones and cannot look at the various colors/options at all, just the overview page. Hopefully Apple gets their supply chain stuff sorted for the phones/iPads/watches/AirPods/Macs for the rest of the year.

 

Decided to upgrade my 12 Pro to the 13 Pro. Not a huge upgrade this year but the ProMotion display will be nice if it’s anything like the iPad Pro’s and camera improvements are always welcome.

 

This is probably old news but I didn’t realise there were two Apple care products for the phone. Standard Apple care and then another which is Apple care with theft and loss.

I’m tempted by the upgrade programme but intrigued to know the condition they take the phone back in. Don’t wanna buy screen protectors and cases every year.

 

I’ve got mine bare and haven’t had an issue with the IUP. I think small scratches and what not are fine.

 

I just called support, and it sounds like they don't do trade-in for the iPhone Upgrade Program (presumably to avoid complications with applying the value to the monthly payments and then having to account for people who upgrade through the program). The support person I talked to suggested enrolling in the Program and then doing a normal trade-in through Apple within 14 days of receiving the new phone. He said this would allow them to just apply the value of the trade-in to the card you used for the Upgrade Program instead of putting it towards a device or giving you an Apple gift card. It doesn't help with lowering the monthly payments, but otherwise seems like a better option than the standard trade-in for people who want to enroll in the Upgrade Program.

 

So I just went through the pre-order and I got to the carrier settings screen and got this message “you still have a contract commitment with T-Mobile” and “you can purchase with one-time payment, but any contract commitment with your carrier still stands.” I didn’t realize we still owed like $100 on my wife’s phone so I just paid it off. I assume that if it didn’t show that contract commitment, it would have mentioned the $500 at that screen?

I called T-Mobile and they were pretty unhelpful and couldn’t give me a straight answer. Has anyone experienced this? The fine print on Apple’s site says that in order to claim your credit for T-Mobile, they’ll send you a promo code that you have to file with T-Mobile.

I just wanted to make sure I’ll still get that $500 credit from T-Mobile, and that Apple will send me the promo code still lol
