My favorite product in years, I truly love these things, but man ... I'm gonna be really upset when the warranty ends in November if this happens again. I've had to replace the right one twice, and the left one once now. And there's complaints about this all over the internet. It better be fixed in the next version of these. Not sure if the rumor of it being dust getting into the mic or something is true, but ... it's a problem.

 

Widget Stacks really are my favorite new thing. Being able to transition from work, to the end of the day, is like having two completely different phones. Productive version, hang out version, it's really nice.

 

Yeah the airpod crackle is definitely a problem whatever the cause....i've seen a handful of people on this site alone (myself included) who have had 1 or both replaced.

 

mine is up in december and if it happens again i might look into switching to the power beats. seen a few people around here say good things about them. sweat/water resistance would also be a nice plus considering i work half the time outdoors in georgia..ha

 

I really don't have much insight with it other than just hoping it's a software thing and not a hardware issue but who knows. I just had both AirPod Pros replaced a few weeks ago too.

my only advice re: the warranty

This is truly the pits but you could call AppleCare over the phone and see if you can still add the AppleCare+ protection for $29 (extends the warranty another year)

if not - just see if you can have the whole set replaced before the warranty runs out because Apple always gives 90 days warranty to all replacement parts and items.

 

beats headphones break quicker than any headphone I've ever experienced.

if you're truly dissatisfied with AirPods Pro (which is okay!) I would recommend something from Bose

 

FWIW i love my Powerbeats pros. Only issue is the magnetic connects to charge them in the case can be a bit fussy but they have the 15min faster charge so it’s not too much of an issue

 

that's a good call, i had a pair of SoundSports before my AirPods that i loved but got destroyed by the aforementioned sweatiness from my job haha.

i love the AirPods and don't really want to switch but it's hard to justify the cost for the pros when the regular version gave me way less problems. hopefully they can iron whatever the connectivity issue i'm having is out with a fw update or something.

 

Random question from messing around on my fiance's phone.. is there any quick gesture or something to open the App Library from any screen like on Android, or do you really have to always manually swipe to the end? Seems like the fastest way I can find is to quick scroll to the last page using the bottom dots of the screen

Also, looks like YouTube blocked the workaround to use PiP from Safari haha

 

At the moment there isn't. You can however swipe, from left to right, on the dots at the bottom of the the screen to quickly go to the last page. Would be a good addition to back tap.

 

I got the Apple Watch series 6 on Wednesday. Went for the one loop band. It’s one size too big. I can still wear it, but know its not perfect.

I went to the apple shop to see about changing it. They are usually great, but this was probably first time I’ve seen them a bit off their game. “Oh, not sure anyone can see you right now”. “In order to change it, we would have to refund the WHOLE thing and do it again”, “I’ll book you in” and i said do you have it in stock so its worth the time coming back? “Oh actually there isn’t any that size in stock”. “You need to check every night and then reserve it if it comes in stock”. Just kinda like broooo, can you not just get a notification to me when its in stock?!

 

Think I just read something yesterday about them changing that policy/allowing single band changes!

 

For this AirPod Pro crackle, is this something you all are experiencing whenever you use them? I’ve had a weird noise in then when I go for runs, but I figure that might be a fit thing? Never had an issue when just listening to them around the house.

 

I had the issue and only really noticed it when working out. Kinda sounds like it would be a fit thing but it’s definitely an issue with the AirPod itself. To me it sounded like something was scraping the inside of my ear as I walked. Once it got replaced I could tell it made a major difference. If you can, get it replaced and you’ll be running a lot more comfortably

Using the stock earbuds from the iPhone 6 right now because I’m too lazy to go get my airpods from downstairs. I forgot how uncomfortable these are. It’s been years

 

Mine it only happened with ANC or transparency mode on. It was like a crackle/buzzing kind of thing like every time I move my head, even calmly while otherwise sitting still. Went through a few questions with an Apple rep on the support chat and they determined it was a hardware issue covered by warranty and set up the replacement for me.

Super easy just in case it does ever happen to you haha

 

Seconding this, and wanted to add that when it happened to me it actually got progressively worse over time. Mine started as something that only happened while I was running, but it eventually got worse to the point where even the slightest head motion made a harsh crackling sound. Also only happened on ANC/Transparency.

 

Tell Lose It how many minutes I walked. I figured out how to tell Apple Health how many, but for some reason Lose It reads the time but doesn’t give me how many calories I burned.

probably one of my favorite pair of headphones I've owned, the longevity of the battery of them before the next charge is super nice. but yeah you definitely have to make sure the buds are directly on the magnets.

aside from that I have had zero issues with my beats, and I have had them maybe like 8 months or so!

 

I can't get the hang of those even after hours of use. Feel like my hand isn't meant for it.
I got the Magic Mouse Open box for 65 bucks and it was practically brand new. Space Grey too!
